YOU ARE ALL SO SWEET - SMOOCHES TO ALL!

Have I told you guys how much I completely appreciate you??!! Because I do - alot! Thanks for the well wishes for my pup, he is doing much better. Seems he has a bladder and kidney infection but he is on antibiotics and seems much more his normal self - thank the good Lord for that! You see, my dogs are part of my family and well, they are really my dogs, especially Clyde. I love that little guy and was very upset that something seemed to be wrong. At first they were worried he had been poisoned, but they ruled that out pretty quickly. Anyway, he is on the mend, with his mommy's watchful eye making sure he stays that way. This pic is him this morning holding on to his bone so nobody else would get it - that is a normal behavior for him and I was happy to see it! Now, on to my project for the day! Tabitha aka Zippity-Do-Dah posted a scrapbook challenge on her blog. She is VERY talented, I love her blog! So, I decided to do this one. There were stipulations: something green, the word lucky, flowers, brads, eyelets, ribbons, and staples needed to be used. So, here is my take on the challenge. I am actually going to put this one in a 12x12 frame and hang it in my scrap room so I wasn't too worried about the bulkiness of my embellishments. I also made a pocket journal tag that talks about how much I love my kids. This is a pic of my kids at Christmas - I just made it sepia in color. My theme is lucky - how lucky I feel that these kids are in my life, that God blessed me with these marvelous little human beings. They are my reason for being, and I feel very lucky to hold the title of their mom! There are some SU! items used, and some non because I have so much scrapping stuff pre-SU! that I need to used it up! Pretty straightforward, but ask if you have a question. As for the blog candy, I have decided to wait until Monday to post it - I know, you have to be patient a little while longer, but it WILL be worth it, I promise! Just wait until you see the goodies I have for you!! Have a great weekend!

A LITTLE STAMPING THERAPY

Good morning all! I am still feeling under the weather - my ears hurt pretty bad and my head feels like it is going to fall off, but I decided to take some drugs and stamp a little! Thanks so all of you for the well wishes, I really appreciate you thinking about me! My upline offered up a challenge to her downline to come up with a project using our fabulous rub-ons. I so love to use them so I decided I was going to get busy and make an Easter project for someone special. I used a Starbucks bottle (ya know, the ones with frappuchino in them) as my treat holder which I will be filling with chocolate eggs. The Regal Rose belly band around the center is stamped with the flowers from A Good Egg stamp set and then I used my white gel pen to color the flower centers in. I then used Summer Sun card stock and punched out three scallops and layered them with a Regal Rose 1 3/8 inch circle. I stamped my image on Whisper White, colored the chick using my stampin' write markers, and paper pieced the shell with the Flowers For You Dp. I popped this little guy up on dimensionals all around the bottle but used Red Sticky Tape to actually adhere the scallops to the bottle to ensure they stayed. The rub-ons go all the way around the top of the bottle and are from the SAB set which I totally love and will be sad to see go. Right at the neck of the bottle I added some Regal Rose grosgrain ribbon. The lid is decorated with a Regal Rose Scallop and a Summer Sun 1 3/8 inch Circle which I added a rub-on to, then accented the whole thing with my white gel pen. The side of the lid has a piece of Maize grosgrain ribbon around it. Sorry for the blurry pic, no matter what I did, the pic of the top kept coming out like this.
I decided that this little treat bottle needed a matching card so I set to it! It is a fairly straightforward card although I will tell you how I did the image for this one. First I adhered all my layers, then punched a scallop from my Flowers for You DP. I adhered that to where I wanted the image to appear from the inside of the card and used my 1 3/8 circle punch to punch through all the layers. That is how I got the scallop outline. I then punched another circle and placed that on the inside of the card and placed the image on it with dimensionals. Here is a picture of the inside of the card. And, the last picture is the full project.
I used a lot of rub-ons but I love the way they look and I don't think I overdid it. Did I???

So, I will leave you the full recipe below. I hope you like my little project! Stay tuned because later this afternoon there will be a blog candy posting - woohoo!!!

OUR TRIP TO THE SNOW

Good Monday mornin'! I have another layout to show you - and I will state right up front that I used non-SU! products on this layout - I have TONS of scrapbooking stuff and I DO like to use it when I scrapbook. The polka dot paper was PERFECT for this layout and I really liked this ribbon since it reminded me of snow. Everything else is SU! though and the recipe is below. This layout is from the trip we took right after Christmas when my oldest son was home for a visit. My boys love to snowboard and my daughter loves to play in the snow so it was a really fun trip. The nice thing about where we live is that we don't have to go far to be IN snow, but we don't have to have it at home either - LOL! It is about an hour drive - not bad at all!! There are several ski resorts around here, and we are only about two hours from Tahoe, which has fabulous skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing. We drove up for the day and we had a fabulous time! These pictures are of when we first got there and were out in front of the lodge. Kayla was really excited and the boys were ready to hit the slopes! The older girl you see in the picture is my son's girlfriend Nikki - they have been dating over two years now and she came out from Florida for the week between Christmas and New Years. He is in Florida visiting her now over Spring Break. Anyway, I enjoyed making these pages since all my chicks were back under one roof if only for a little while and we had a great time as a family. As you can see, I left my journaling block blank - I am going to add that today because I don't normally journal at a crop, I just try and get my pages done. I also added some dazzling diamonds to my punched out snowflakes (I used my snow blossom punch) and it really sparkles IRL! Hope you like them!
Recipe:
Paper - Not Quite Navy card stock, Brocade Blue card stock, Bashful Blue card stock
Stamps - Itty Bitty Backgrounds (stamped on the punched out snowflakes)
Ink -Brocade Blue Stampin' Write marker (for the stitching around the journaling block)
Accessories - Crop-a-dile, Jumbo pewter eyelets, mat stack and paper piercer, Corner Ticket Punch, Snow Blossom Punch, Dazzling Diamonds, Liquid Glue
