SCRAPBOOK SATURDAY

Good morning all!! I am very behind on my post this morning - was up very late getting ready for my two workshops today! I have decided that I will not do two again on the same day....too stressful, lol!! I have another one tomorrow I still need to cut paper for so this will be a quick post! I wanted to share another page I made for Kirsten's wedding pics - I just found out this one won the contest I submitted for and I am receiving a bunch of new goodies to play with from SNR - whoohoo!!!! The pic she gave me already had the blue and red writing on it so I went with that theme and also matched Glen's uniform. I used some beautiful new paper from Stampin' Up! it is sooo heavy like cardstock, but has absolutely gorgeous patterns. It's called Sweet Slumber! I also took lots of naked Onboard Letters chipboard and sponged it with Pacific Point ink, then added some bling - every wedding page needs bling! I am happy with how this page turned out, and will be giving it to Kirsten tomorrow. I really hope she likes it!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend! I will be back on Monday to share some stuff from all my workshops!

STAMP SOMETHING - SKETCH SOMETHING!

Whoohoooooo! Friday again - time for another sweet Stamp Something Challenge! This week our very own fabulous DT member Emily created a sketch to use. It is wonderful and I have already saved it to my favorites for use again! I love sketches because it gives you a great starting point while leaving everything wide open for you own interpretation!!! I decided to use another Whimsy image today - this time I used the duck, he is sooo stinkin' cute and I have been looking for a reason to use him again! I know my card is bright, but I was really in the mood for bright, fun colors so I went with it. The dp is not SU! (shhhh.....) but it went sooo well, I just had to use it - I have no idea who makes it, I found it in my stash, lol! I also gave my little fella some bling with some Iridescent Ice, he looks so cute IRL! (click on pic and you can see it better). I had a great time with this sketch and you can too! Just pop over to the Stamp Something Site and get some inspiration from the rest of the DT gals - they are all so very talented, you will be amazed at what they come up with! And, once you do yours, upload the link to the site so we can all see! Also, if you DO participate, you will be entered into the random drawing to win something yummy from our sponsors this week, Layers of Color!! Enjoy your weekend all, I am off to finish prepping for my classes this weekend AND get ready for my handsome husband to come home! Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate you all so much!

TAMARA'S SKETCH CHALLENGE

It's that time again!! Sketches by Tamara is having a Blast from the Past sketch week and selected a favorite from the archives to bring back this week!! It's one of my favorites, so I was happy to see it!! I did my sample a little bit different than the sketch - instead of making the whole card round, I used lots of rounded elements, including the corners of the card, and added a scalloped circle to the card! I had fun using my Big Shot Layered Flowers die, these flowers are sooo fun to play with!! This card came together pretty quickly as there wasn't much stamping (just the sentiment). Make sure you go on over to Tamara's and check out what the rest of the DT did for this one - you will be glad you did!! And, why not try this one for yourself? Just upload the link to Tamara's site so we can all see and get yourself entered in for the chance to be the Featured Friday stamper! Now, off to cut and stamp some more- I have three classes over the next three days so lots to do!! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

A BEAUTIFUL COUPLE

Hi all!! Whew!! I can't believe how busy I have been!! For the last few days and nights I have been filling out some job applications and redoing my resume, which has taken a lot longer than I thought! And, I have been getting ready to teach a workshop tonight so I was madly cutting and designing projects and then last night she called and cancelled!!!!! Yep, no workshop tonight....but we moved it to Tuesday so I am ahead of the game now, lol!!! She has a very sick child so I completely understand...I just wish I hadn't had to pull my hair out! But, I do have something I want to share with you today so I guess that's something, right? I made this layout (it is framed but I took it out to take a picture) for my friend's daughter's wedding day. I have been doing some layouts for her since he is on his way to Iraq for the THIRD time in the four years they have been together and will be gone for another eight months. So, to give her something to hang on her wall in her bedroom at moms, I asked her for a few of her favorite wedding pics. I made one already, but she showed that one to her husband, and he promptly claimed that one for his own - I was very flattered, lol! Hopefully she will like this one just as much!! Everything on this page is Stampin' Up! and I even used some of my Pretties Kit to add a touch of elegance. The big flower is inked with Chocolate Chip ink and then stamped with my Romance stampin' wheel. The middle has one of the new jumbo chocolate chip brads and is topped with a large pearl, also from the Pretties Kit. If you look at the flowers in the upper corner, those are also cut using my Big Shot Die called Flower Layers III, which I also used my Romance wheel on in Chocolate Chip ink. The stamp from the Doodle This stamp set is stamped in Chocolate Chip Craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder (click pic to enlarge). Very monochromatic page because I made the pictures Sepia and I did not want to distract from them. All in all, I am happy with how it turned out and I hope she is too!! She will get this from me on Sunday when she comes for my calendar class. I have one other which I will share this weekend, I am just finishing it up now!! Thanks for stopping by, I will be back tomorrow with Tamara's sketch as well as a few other goodies I want to share!! Till then - have a fantabulous day!

HAPPY MONDAY - LOTS TO SHARE TODAY!

Hi all!! I hope you had a good weekend - mine was FABULOUS!!! I really enjoyed some quality time with my husband, not doing chores, or yard work, or running around. It was really nice!! I even had time to do some stamping, and I am going to share some of what I did today! This first card is made using Jen's SFYTT - loved this sketch! I wanted to use my new hostess set called God's Beauty because I really love the saying that goes with this, and I know the friend I am sending this to will like it too! (sorry for the funny angle of this pic, makes everything look crooked) The butterfly in this set is awesome....I decided to emboss mine with Iridescent Ice and I really like how it turned out! Here is the recipe for this card!

This next card uses the sketch posted Limelight Papercrafts that also wants you to use something fuzzy or furry! I used some on my little bunnies tail although it's kind of hard to see it here...it looks really cute IRL because I also added a touch of bling (I couldn't help myself!) I also made a matching little treat bag using my new Scallop Bag die for my Big Shot. I thought it would make a nice hostess gift for my workshop on Wednesday! I used a lot of bright, fun colors on these two because they remind me so much of Easter and Spring! And, I used my new set from the upcoming Spring Mini called An Eggcelent Easter, which has the cutest little bunny images! Here is the recipe for these two!

Hi all! I hope you are enjoying your weekend - mine has been fabulous so far!! Tony and I are getting to spend some great quality time together, and I am lovin' every minute of it!! Since he is gone all week, I really treasure the moments I get with him now! He really spoiled me yesterday too - nice dinner, bought me my new movie (Twilight), took me to a HUGE scrapbook store that I just had a great time in, AND brought me coffee in bed. Not sure what I did to deserve all this, but I sure am enjoying it!!:-) So, on to my card - this is the one I did for Beate's Sketch Challenge this week. The sketch was actually done by Cami and I absolutely LOVE it - it is now in my faves file and I will be using it again for sure!! I used the new dp from the upcoming spring mini called Walk in the Park - I just love the spring feel to this paper!! And, I thought an embosslit would be perfect for this one because I really wanted to use one of my new Going Gray button brads also in the Spring mini. I was quite pleased with how this one turned out - I hope you all like it too!! I plan on spending most of the afternoon in my stamp room since Tony has to head back today rather than tomorrow for some training seminar all week. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for much for stopping by!
