A POCKETFUL OF HEARTS

Happy Friday all!! I have to say, this week flew by!!! I have kept myself very busy so I would not think about losing my job and so far it is working - although I have stamped enough Valentines cards to send to the entire world, LOL!!! And, yep, I have yet another one to share today!! But, first I want to share that the workshop went well last night and we all had fun although it was a bit challenging to talk over the noise in the pizza place, lol!!! Good group of ladies though and those who had never stamped before were really liking it so that was great - I love introducing stamping to new peeps and watching them grin as they create, just makes me feel good!!! Now, on to the card!! I made this one using the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set which I love even more now because Stampin' Up! is donating $2 from each set sold between now and the end of February to aid the people in Haiti - isn't that fabulous??!!! Another reason why I just love this company, they have such a giving nature and truly care about people which is what is should be all about! So, if you want to order this set, shop online with me - it's fast and easy and comes right to your door!!! The envelope on the front is made with a Sizzix die and is available to order in the main catty!! This is one of my favorite cards I have made - it just makes me happy!! So, now I am off to spend time with Tony - he is home for good now and has today off (he surprised me by coming home late last night!) so we are going to goof off and spend time together!! Thanks sooooo much for stopping by, your sweet comments mean a lot - have a fabulous weekend all!!!!

A HOSTESS GIFT WITH MOJO MONDAY

Hi all!! I am really busy today getting ready for a large workshop I have tomorrow making Valentines, but I wanted to share the hostess gift I made for my wonderful friend Wendy who is hostessing. I wanted to make her something really cute so I decided on a Top Note purse with matching card. I also filled the little purse with chocolate goodies - every gal needs chocolate:-). I decided that I just had to use that last sheet of my Sending Love DSP since it was the only pattern I had not played with yet, LOL! And, the Love Bandit stamp set was a must for this one - it is sooooo cute!!! I want to share each piece of this with you so I will start with the card which is actually based on this week's Mojo Monday sketch. And, I did the inside of the card using some of my rub-ons from the Loop to Loop package(retired, but I love them!!) which was the Way To Use it Challenge at Stampin' Connection. Lots of punches used on this card and I even used some of my corduroy buttons!!
And, here is a close-up of the Top Note purse that I made - this is probably one of my favorite little bags to make because it comes together so easily and there are sooo many variations you can do and they all look so cute!! So, I am off to finish cutting my kits and working on some projects that I need for upcoming classes! If you are interested in any of my workshop or class projects, and want to make them for yourself, please send me an email - I have them all available as kits to go as well!! Take care all and have a wonderful day - thanks so much for stopping by!!

SKETCH CHALLENGE AND ANNIVERSARY CARD

Happy Monday all!!! WOW!! Feels weird not to be at work and still be in jammies.....and it is kind of nice too. Thanks for all the kind emails and well wishes, you all ROCK!!! It is so nice to know that I have a safe place to go and share feelings and vent a little and know that I won't be judged, but will feel such great support! And, I did spend LOTS of time stamping yesterday and it did make me feel better!! I got to play with lots of my new toys that I have not even had the time to look at so that was really great. I have two cards to share today: this first one is for the first card sketch challenge being held at Stampin' Connection, a site just for demonstrators. I am happy to say that I am part of this sketch team (there are four of us) and we will rotate each week making the sketch, but will always make a sample. Liz Goldhawk made the first sketch and it was fabulous - her sketch and sample can be seen at her blog here. For mine I decided to make another Valentine's Day card - I must think I have a lot of Valentines with the amount of cards I have made for this holiday, LOL!!! I used a set I just ordered called A Happy Heart, which is a great set!! I used the big heart from the set, stamped it in Real Red Kraft ink, covered it in Iridescent Ice, and heat embossed it. I mounted it on dimensionals and boy, is it nice and sparkly!! This card came together pretty quickly too, gotta love that! Here are the deets:
Card Recipe:
Paper - Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla card stock, Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper
Inks - Real Red Kraft ink, Chocolate Chip classic ink
Stamps - A Happy Heart
Accessories - Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Large Oval Punch, Scalloped Oval Punch, Small Heart Punch, Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon, Iridescent Ice, Heat Tool
This card is the one I made for my husband for our Anniversary, which is coming up this Saturday. We will be celebrating 17 fabulous years of marriage!! He is such a great guy and although we have had our ups and downs like any married couple, he is still my best friend and I am so happy that he is part of my life! I wanted to make him a fun card so I decided to ink up my other new set called Love Bandit, which is in the new Occasions Mini catty. This is such a cute set, it FREE with a $50 orderreally makes me smile!! I used another new punch on this as well, it is the Scallop Trim Corner Punch which matches the Punch along the bottom of my card called Scallop Trim Border Punch. Now, this punch is only available in the Sale-A-Bration catty but you get it ....yep, FREE!! If you have to have one (and you do) you can order online from me or through your demo. I did a lot of fun things to this card: I used the Sizzix Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder and then sponged over it with Frost White shimmer paint which I have to tell ya, looks AMAZING! I also did some masking because I wanted to have the little raccoon peeking out from behind the tree, LOL! I also double stamped the tree so that the tree top could be red and popped up on dimensionals. This was really fun for me to make and I just know Tony will love it!!! So, now I am off to take care of some paperwork for the final settlement on our home, then laundry since I did not do it this weekend. And, I hope to do some more stamping this afternoon! Thanks so much for stopping by, I appreciate it!

FEATURED STAMPER CHALLENGE AT STAMP CONNECTION

Hi all, I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I am still licking my wounds over losing my job, it is harder than I thought. I did spend some time in my stamp room this morning which was nice although it took me three hours to make this card! LOST MY MOJO

Hi all - so sorry I have been so quiet this week, but it has not been a good one for me. I lost my job on Wednesday and I am still trying to catch my breath from that. It was very unexpected although I do live in CA and should know and understand how bad it is here. But, it still hurts and so I have not been up to doing much of anything. However, my goal is to stamp today and remember how good it feels to create - after all, that is why we all do it, right? So, I am going to be kicking off the week with the new Stampers Challenge on the new Stampin' Up! Connection site (if you are a demo and have not signed up, get on over there!) as I have been asked to be part of the Card Sketch Monday challenge with three other ladies. I am excited to have been chosen, especially now. So, thanks for being patient with me and sticking by me, I hope to have some things to show you this week. Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
