SOME FUN LAYOUTS TO SHARE

Happy Friday all!! WHEW!! I have to say, this week has been a doozy!!! First and foremost, I want to share some big news: I GOT THE JOB!!!! For those of you who have been following me for awhile, you know that I have been interviewing over the last few months for a major position as Chico State University - well, I got the call and I will start on the 15th of June!!!! WHOOOOHOOOO !!! I am REALLY excited - I will be the Director of Human Resources (it has some other fancy title but that is what it is) for the university so I will be quite busy!! So, I have been spending the last couple of days filling out paperwork, answering hiring kinds of questions, and dancing around the house like a fool, lol!!!! That is the reason I have not been as visible on your blogs, but I promise I will make it up to you today *wink* I obviously will have to find some balance because there is NO WAY I am giving up my stamping, but I am sure it will take me some time to figure it all out!!! I will though, that I promise!!! And now, on to why you actually came to see me today - my scrapbook layouts! These are actually the layouts for my monthly scrap club and were made using the Love Stories Simply Scrappin' kit. Remember when I told you I was trying to see how many projects I could get out of one kit??? Well, these were made out of the same original kit AND I STILL have leftovers!!! Here is the second page of our scrap night.....I actually designed these layouts for something else and then ended up using them for my club night and I am glad I did because they really liked them! Now, I have some other news to share: we are ONE WEEK away from our debut challenge at ScrapandStampSaturday and so to get us all ready, we are spotlighting our Design Team members over at the site, sharing some information about them as well as displaying some of their fabulous layouts utilizing stamps and scrapping!! So, please head over there and leave these ladies some love, they are all wonderful and I just know you are going to love what they you see from them in all the challenges ahead!! And, if you are still with me after this uber long post, then MWAH to you!!!!! Heehee, I will leave you with this: have an absolutely fabulous weekend!!!!

A VERY SPECIAL BIRTHDAY WISH!!

Happy Thursday all!! Today I have a very special card to share that is for a very special person! Today is Joy Kennedy's birthday and I made this card especially for her!!! Joy is one of the owner's of the fabulous online store Eclectic Paperie (EP for those of us who know and love this wonderful place!) She is also one of the owner's of the new stamp line called Our Staff Lounge; her and Cami launched this fabulous line about six months ago, and they have the cutest stamps (I should know, I own most of them, lol!) So, the gals came up with an idea to have an EP exclusive set, and out of this idea, Kona was born and has already become Joy's favorite!! So, today I made a birthday card especially for her using one of the adorable Kona images in the new set!! I will tell you, this is one of the CUTEST stamp sets I have ever seen....I am totally in love with it, and can see why it is Joy's favorite!! I mean, just look at him, lol!! That little crab totally cracks me up!! The sentiment is one I made up and printed on my computer so it does not come with the set but everything else does including the sand. This set will be available at EP starting tomorrow and will only be available for a limited time so make sure you get on over there and get your own set before it is GONE!!! Want to see some more sneak peeks of Kona? Head on over to Cami's blog and you will begin a fabulous tour of eye candy!!! Joy, I want to wish you a HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRL!!!!!! I hope your day is FABULOUS!!!!! Now, I am off to run some errands....I have some exciting news to share tomorrow so I hope you come back and visit - and I promise I will catch up on my blogging, I have just been swamped...you will understand why tomorrow *wink* Thanks for stopping by!

FUN WITH WINDOW SHEETS!

Hi all!! WOW! Wednesday already - doesn't it amaze you how fast the week goes by when you have a holiday at the beginning? Halfway through the week already, sheesh!! So, today I wanted to share a couple of projects I made using the window sheets that Stampin' Up! has - at first I was drawing a blank as to what to use them for, but boy, I have had fun playing with them and learning how versatile they are!! This first project is made using my Big Shot Bigz Scallop Circle die and the window sheets....I am lovin' how easily this machine handles them and how nice they came out!! I decided I wanted to make a mini album using these and it really came together nicely. I also used by Bigz Circle Die for the main backgrounds on each page - I only cut four of the scallops and have an eight page album that is perfect for pictures! Now, since this one isn't mine but is already in the mail to someone, I did not add pics to it, but I am already making another one - LOL! I LOVE this!! I punched a hole, added a ring, and voila! instant album!! This second project is also made using a die for my Big Shot - it's the Pillow Box Die and I just cut it out using the window sheets. Now, this does take some working with as the score lines are not as easy to see, but I just went over them on my Scor-Pal and it was fine. Both of these projects use the Simply Scrappin' Kit Love Stories - remember last week when I told you I was seeing how many projects I could make with one kit? Yep, this is still the product from that same kit.....such a good value as you can do a whole class using just one kit!! I really like this little favor box and plan on making a bunch of these for an upcoming baby shower....I think they will make cute little favor boxes for the guests!! So, now I am off to cut stacks of paper for the workshop I am doing tonight - yep, I left it to the last minute AGAIN - heehee!!! I hope you all have a fabulous day and thanks so much for poppin' in and seeing me, I really appreciate it!!

GRADUATION DAY

Hi all!! Today I wanted to share a graduation card I made for the college graduation I attended over the weekend. It was soooo fabulous to be able to see Kirsten walk across the stage and get her diploma!! She worked so hard and now she has her accounting degree and is ready to begin her next journey!! I love this girl like she is my own....and I totally enjoy spending time with her! I think the only sad part of this weekend is that Glenn could not be here to share this occasion since he is currently deployed to Iraq. But, we are going to make him an album and send it to him so he can see everything as if he WAS here! I used the colors of Chico State for this card and she really loved it which made me happy! Now, I am off to go shopping so I will leave you with the recipe! I hope you all have a fabulous day and thanks so much for stopping by - you are all so wonderful!!

WHIMSY SUMMER DAYS

***Happy Memorial Day!! Please take some time today to remember why we recognize this special day and give thanks to our troops past and present for the sacrifices they have made so we can have this great country today! ***

It's time for another Whimsy Challenge - WHOOOHOO! Today's theme is summer, anything you want to do that represents summer!! So, I decided to make my card using the cute Whimsy Turtle because to me turtles remind me of summer - we used to go to the creek and catch them during the summer months and bring them home as pets, lol! Please stop by the Whimsy Challenges site and see what the rest of the Design Team did for the challenge, there is some serious eye candy there, and you don't want to miss it! Also, why not play along? You don't have to use a Whimsy Image but if you have them, why not use them - you will get an extra chance at the drawing if you do! And, there is a fabulous prize up for grabs for the lucky winner so what do you have to lose? Plus, we will get to see YOUR fabulous creations too! I hope you all play along! Enjoy the rest of your day, we are off to the lake for a day of swimming and barbecue!
