MR. TWIGSTER....AND A VENT

Hey all!!! WOW!! Wednesday already - where is time going - I have soooo much to get done for this craft fair on Saturday, lol!!! No sleep until Sunday, heehee!!! So, I finally inked up my Mr. Twigster stamp, he is so very cute, but I had a hard time figuring out what to do with him. So, when I signed up for this Winter Wonderland ATC swap, I figured he was perfect! I did use some non-SU! ribbon because I thought it looked just like snowballs, heehee!! And, of course, no snowman is finished without some bling so I added some dazzling diamonds to make my man shine - LOL! Here is a close-up of the ATC, isn't he cute?! I am lovin' this little guy and see me using him a lot now that I have broken him in! He is already in the mail winging his way to the gals at the Coconut Scrapshop! I will leave you with the recipe below....but first, I must get something off my chest since it has been bothering me since yesterday and I figure if I vent, it will go away!! Yesterday, I went to Chico (about 30 minutes from my home) where all the stores are including Michaels, Joanns, and a scrapbook store that I don't frequent. However, I decided to venture in there yesterday as I am in dire need of some clear card stock for a project I want to do. Anyway, the owner of the store (who has never been really nice) asked me if she could help and I explained what I needed. She told me there was no such thing, but she had some 8x8 sheets of something that might work. So, I looked at them, asked how much they were, she responded $1 apiece, and I said I would take the ten she had figuring they would work. Soooooo, I am wondering around the store, checking out the new arrivals table (hey, I love new stuff just like the next gal!) and found myself picking up several pieces of dsp, some beautiful ribbons, embellies...you get the picture. So, I now have about $40 worth of stuff in my hands, and I am checking something else out when I hear the OWNER OF THE STORE talking to one of her employees about how dumb I am because I don't know what I am talking about, that there is no such thing as clear card stock, and to charge me a $1 for the sheets even though they are only 50 cents, and was laughing and rolling her eyes, obviously not knowing that I could hear her. So, I marched myself over to her, handed her everything I had in my hands, told her I did not need to spend my money in her store, and walked out!! Now, apparently she still has me on her newsletter sign-up because she called me and asked me what happened - so I told her. She had the nerve to lie to me and tell me that she would "talk to her employee about how rude she was" - hah!!! What a joke!! It's such a shame, we don't have a LSS where I live, and this one SUCKS!!!!! So, that's my vent - if you aren't asleep by my whining, I appreciate you letting me get that off my chest - LOL! Here's to online shopping!!!!!! Anyone know a good place where I can order some acetate or clear card stock? heehee.....thanks ladies!!!

A HOLIDAY KEEPSAKE BOX

Hi all!!! Whew!!! This was one HECTIC weekend, sheesh!! Our kids have the whole four days off with today being Veteran's Day (HAPPY VETERAN'S DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and so I had my nieces and nephews for the whole weekend - yep, they ate, played, slept here at my home all three of the last days!! Eeeek - I don't know how people with eight kids do it, I was pulling my hair out by this morning - LOL! But, they seemed to have a good time and we took them to see Madagascar II yesterday, which was a cute movie. Then, pizza afterward and home to their parents!! I need a vacation now, teehee!! Needless to say, my big plans to stamp all weekend went flying out the weekend and I will be stamping my heart out this weekend getting ready for the craft fair. So, let me share a project I was FINALLY able to complete: Remember, the garland I posted here? Well, I made a decorated box for it so that it can be stored once the holiday is over and not get destroyed. I made this for my upcoming craft fair so I am hoping it is a hit! That first picture is of the top of the box. I tried to keep to the same theme and color scheme as the actual garland and I must say, I am very happy with how it turned out! Here is a picture of the inside with the garland stored and the lid off - isn't it cute??!!! I used a template that I have for the box since it fits an A2 size card perfectly. Also, there is a super tutorial by Beate on Splitcoast on this box as well so check it out!! So, this is my project for today, I am so glad I finally got one done, lol!!! I will leave you with the recipe and I AM going to be stampin all day today so it will be a fun day and I will have some more fun stuff to share with you tomorrow! Till then - Happy Stampin!
