OPEN HOUSE MAKE 'N TAKES

Happy Wednesday!! Here it is, the middle of the week, my mom and sister arrive tomorrow, I have a million things to do, and wonder if I will be able to get them all done, lol! But, I wanted to make a quick post and share with you all the cute little 3x3 make 'n takes I had for my Open House - I had four samples and they were able to do any two they liked.  I used all new sets and papers to showcase our new products and they really seemed to like them! The first one uses the stamp set called Timeless Treasures and it has quickly become a favorite of mine.  I juust love all the images in this set and it can be used for sooo many different occasions! The DSP is from the Brights Designer Pattern Pack - in fact, all the DSP I used is because these packs are so versatile, you can use them on any card.  Another great product idea from Stampin' Up! these packs of paper are available in all of our color families!
This second card uses the Just Believe stamp set which I love, love, love and was lucky enough to get for FREE from Convention - how cool is that?!!  The colors I used on this one are Regal Rose, Wild Wasabi, and Daffodil Delight - YUM!  And, I did add some of the Daffodil Delight skinny ribbon (yes, I know that's not really what it is called, but that's what I call it, lol!)  Such pretty ribbon and easy to make bows with too which was HUGE for this bow challenged gal :-)  Although I did not use a bow on this card since I DID use one on another one I will share in a minute.  I also showcased several of our punches as well, and, although the punching was all done except for the main image and the sentiment, they were all on the table so people could see them.  I know I love to play with punches, and from what I could tell, they were a pretty big hit with all the folks that came to the Open House as well! Especially the border punches, they just loved those! I did demo our new border punch called Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch, but I did not use it on the make 'n takes.
This third card uses a fun favorite of mine called Punched Posies which is actually a Hostess Set from the Summer mini, which is good until the end of August (hurry and get your orders in!) Every single stamp has a coordinating punch to go with it, making it really quick to make a bunch of flowers for your cards, layouts, etc.  I did demo this set as well to show how nice and easy it is to get lots of flowers!  I did not use any patterned paper on this one but the flower stands well on its own! And shhhh......I know my sentiment is crooked, LOL!  My poor little bow had been manhandled quite a bit by the time I got to take pics of this card, so it is looking a little tired but actually it looks really cute when the bow is nice and perky! I actually tied (yes I did!) all these bows ahead of time so all they had to do was add them to the card. Did I tell you that I was crazy? Well, if you did not know before, you do now - heehee!
This last card was one of my favorites because it had a butterfly on it and I love butterflies!  It is from the new stamp set called Butterfly Prints and has three different patterned butterflies to stamp with AND they can all be punched out using our Butterfly punch - awesome!!!  I used the new In-Color Concord Crush and paired it with Daffodil Delight and Regal Rose, then added a small strip of the brights patterned paper.  I love the sentiment in this set, sooo pretty! This card was popular - I had no kits left at the end of the day, lol!  So, those were the make 'n takes I had available, and for the most part, everything went very smoothly with no card mishaps, heeehee! I had it all set up in stations and people were laughing, having fun, meeting new people, and enjoying stamping.  And, that's what it's all about, right?  I hope you enjoyed me sharing these little 3x3s, I sure liked showing them to you!  Thanks so much for stopping by, it means a lot to me and I love reading your comments!  Have a wonderful day - I am off to clean, do laundry, plant, and various other things that need to get done before midnight tonight, lol!! Bye now!

STAMPIN' CONNECTION SKETCH CHALLENGE - ELEMENTS OF STYLE

Good Monday morning all!  It's the start of another busy week here for me - my mom and sister will arrive this Thursday and then our Housewarming will be on Saturday so I have TONS of stuff to get done between now and then! But first, I wanted to share with you the sketch for this week at Stampin' Connection - I am the sketch host for this week so I can share both my card AND the sketch with you!  First, the card! I chose to keep this very simple since I kept the sketch fairly simple.  I used Elements of Style stamp set because I just love the flower images in this set, I love to color them! I also did not use any patterned paper but chose instead to emboss the base card using the Square Lattice Folder.  I love how it really dresses up the whole card! My embellishments were fairly simple too - I used some of the really pretty Daffodil satin ribbon and some of the buttons from the Brights collection and I just love how they look together! This card was quick and easy to pull together, but still looks pretty!  My favorite kind of card, lol! If you are a demonstrator, please make sure to come over to the Stampin' Connection site and play along with the sketch - just remember to tag your card with SCCSC27 so we can all come and check them out!
If you are not a demo, but still want to play along, I am posting the sketch here and would love if you would leave a comment to let me know that you made a card so I can come over and check it out!  Thanks so much for stopping by, I love that you do! I am off now to start my day of a million errands, but I hope to have some time this afternoon to do some blog surfing of my own - I love to see what you are all up to! SPOOKY - SFYTT SKETCH

Hi All!! I know, very unusual for me to post on a Sunday but I did not have time to get it up yesterday, lol! I actually had time to complete the SFYTT this week, whoohoooo!!! I decided on a Halloween theme because for some reason, I am in a Halloween mood!  So, I used one of my fave sets called House of Haunts, which is in the main catalog and tons of fun to stamp with!  I used the new In-Color Concord Crush for the base and then embossed Basic Black card stock with my new web embossing folder that will available to order on September 1st from the new Holiday Mini!  I distressed the edges of all my card stock as well as my designer paper, which is actually from the Hostess Level I pattern pack, and has great choices of paper in it! For the main image, I took some Whisper White card stock, and sponged it with Tangerine Tango classic ink, making it progressively heavier as I went down the paper so it looks like the sun is setting in the background. Then, I stamped my image in Black Stazon right over the sponged area.  I pleated my ribbon and then added one of our new yummy buttons with some twine in the middle, then stamped my sentiment and popped it up on dimensionals! I had fun making this card, and playing around with lots of different products! If you are interested in purchasing anything you see here, you can go to my online store and place an order - all the item numbers are listed below in the recipe (with the exception of the embossing folder).  Thanks soooo much for stopping by - I love reading your comments, they make my day! Now, I am off to do some planting and some painting of my outdoor furniture so lots to get done today! Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I will be back tomorrow with the weekly sketch from Stampin' Connection - it is my week to host, so I really hope you will all play along :-)
