DOWNLINE MAKE AND TAKE

Happy Friday all!! Whew! Busy busy week here for me but I have gotten SOooooooo much done!!! Tonight is the start of my workshop marathon, LOL! I have one tonight, two tomorrow, and one Sunday! It is a lot of work but I know it will be fun and hey, it means I get to stamp ALL weekend long, whoooohooooo!  I wanted to quickly share the make and take card I had for my downline at our meeting on Tuesday.  Since we were concentrating on promoting the upcoming holiday mini on September 1st, I made my card using those new products.  It is simple but cute and they seemed to really like it! I love those gals, they totally make me smile and I look forward to seeing them each and every meeting! Next month we are going to do a shoebox swap and a potluck dinner - too too fun!!!!  So, if you are looking for a fun group of gals to belong to and want to become a demonstrator, then you should join my team!!! We have the best time together!!!!! Now, on to the card!  I am loving the colors in the new Candycane Christmas designer paper - such fun, nontraditional holiday colors that really make each project soooo stinkin' cute!  I love using pink on my cards so Pirouette Pink was used here as the base of this card which I embossed using the Dots embossing Folder - super cute against the dots in the DSP :-)  The stamp set is called Merry Crittermas and I just love all the adorable little images in this set! Isn't this beaver just darling?  I accented him with some stampin' write markers because no animal should have to appear naked, LOL!  The DSP is cut using the Top Note Die on the Big Shot - still one of my most favorite dies to use!  And, I used those sweet little bitty punches and buttons to add some accents to my card.  Lastly, some Certainly Celery thin grosgrain ribbon and you have this card all done! Easy to put together but sure to bring a smile to someone's face :-)  Thanks for stopping by today - as you can imagine, I have TONS of stuff still to do before my workshop tonight so I am outta here but I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for stopping by to see me - I love all of your comments, they really make my day!!! See ya Monday!!!!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL CARD AND PIC :-)

Hi all!! Here it is, Wednesday already - where does the time go??  I have been super busy trying to get some stamping done, and prepping for my four workshops at the end of this week! I know, I am crazy - but I LOVE it :-)  As promised, I wanted to share my card that I made for my daughter for her first day of school as well as her beautiful picture (tradition, ya know??!)  I have to laugh - my daughter is a contradiction in terms because she is a very girly girl .....and then, she is soooo not!! If you have a teenage daughter, you know EXACTLY what I mean, LOL! So, I decided to keep her card fun with lots of texture and different elements and I am proud to say that it made it to the bulletin board in her room so I must have done something right :-)  I used lots of  fun things on this card including my fabulous cutter kit(106958) which has several different toys attached, one being the distresser tool that I used here.  And, the Designer Paper Celebrations(117164) was perfect for what I had in mind - I love all the different sizes and colors of the numbers, makes the perfect background! The main image is stamped on a piece of Whisper White card stock(100730) that I misted with water, crumpled, flattened out and then stamped on when it dried - fun and easy technique if you are looking for a different look on your card. The image (which is actually a sentiment LOL!) is from the Word Play stamp set(120651-clear) which has not left my desk since Monday and will probably be used several more times before it makes it back to its rightful place on the shelf, heehee! I LOVE it! The sentiment is from the Go Graduate stamp set, which is in the Summer Mini and is only available to order until August 30th. I attached it with one of our new fun embellishments in the Clips Assortment(112580) - isn't that the cutest paper clip you have ever seen??!!!  Some fun designer buttons and cute ribbon completed this card and I was soooo happy that she liked it - even got a smile and at 7:30am that is quite the feat!!
Here is my beautiful girl -I can't believe how grown up she looks, where does the time go??*sigh*  It seems like just yesterday I walked her to her kindergarten class holding her hand - can you imagine me trying THAT now??! I am pretty sure it would be years before she spoke to me again, LOL!  Thanks everyone for stopping by - please leave me a comment to let me know you were here, I so love to read them, they always bring a smile to my face! Now, off to stamp some more so that Tony and I can take the kiddos to the County Fair tonite with some friends - can't wait!!!

BACK FROM VACATION WITH A SKETCH CARD :-)

Happy Monday everyone!!  Sorry you have not heard from me in awhile, but I did not prepare posts for while I was gone because I really just wanted to concentrate on relaxing and enjoying my family that was here! And, I did! But, I am ready to get back to work again so I am starting off this week with the Stampin' Connection Sketch Challenge card which is being hosted by my fellow team-member Liz!  It is a great sketch this week so I hope those of you who are demos head on over to Stampin' Connection and check it out!  I made this card for my son Tyler for his first day of school today - yes, I made one for Kayla too, and I will share that one tomorrow *wink*  Tyler's school colors are purple, black, and white so that is what I used on this card. I used a couple of different stamp sets on this card.  I stamped the base of the card in Crumb Cake classic ink(121030) using the Wonderfully Worn background stamp (118533-wood). It may be hard to see in the pic, but it really enhances the look of the card.  The second one is the Go Graduate(120054-clear) set from the Summer Mini catty.  This is such a great set for anything to do with school! Just look at how cute that owl is! The summer mini catalog is only good until the end of this month so if you want this set, or any other in this great little mini, you can order online so you don't miss out! Remember, once it's gone, it's gone! The third set is called Word Play(120651-clear) and is availabe in the main catalog - I love this set, it has fabulous sayings in it and they are all designed with a play on words which makes them really fun to use! I also used some of the fun Newsprint Designer Series paper(117166), which I love because it is sooooo versatile, it can be used on tons of different projects and they all look great! This particular piece has large alphabet letters on it and so it fit my needs perfectly :-)  I did some embossing and also used my new Big Shot die called the Scalloped Square Duo from the Holiday Mini which will go live on September 1st - you are going to LOVE LOVE LOVE this mini!!!  Lastly, I added some brads and of course one of the new fabulous buttons we have, and then I was done! I gave it to Tyler this morning and he actually smiled (Tyler does not smile until at least noon, LOL!) And, he let me take his picture, a feat that has been getting harder each year he gets older but I have been doing this since they all started school!
Here is a pic of my very handsome High School Junior his first day!  Okay, so it's not a huge smile, but hey, I will take what I can get, LOL!! Anytime I can get the kids to stand still for a picture these days is a major victory in my book - they see me getting out the camera and they run and hide! I remember when they use to pose for me *sigh* but those days are long gone!! I hope you like my sketch card, I sure had fun making it! Now, I am off to work on my workshops for this week - I have four so lots of work to do! Tomorrow night is my downline meeting as well so I need to make some special things for them as well - I just love my downline, each and every one of them! Have a wonderful day and thanks so much for stopping by and leaving me some love - it means the world to me!!!
