STAMP SOMETHING SHAPE SOMETHINGS

Here it is, Friday again and that means time for another fabulous challenge from the Stamp Something team. Today our challenge is sponsored by our very own talented DT gal Marcea. Her challenge is to use lots of different shapes on your project, whatever project you want to create! I loved this one, I thought it was fun, and since I love to use my punches, I had a great time with it! Squares, Circles, Rectangles, Ovals, you name it, I wanted to use it, lol!! I wanted to make a card for my son and send him a little something from us to let him know we are thinking about him! I know he does not read my blog (poor kid does NOT have the time!) so I feel safe posting it here, lol! I used my Owl Together Now stamp set - I just love all the cute little owls in this set! Please make sure you stop on over to the Stamp Something site and check out what the rest of the DT gals did for this week's challenge, I can promise you, you will be glad that you did! And, if you play along, make sure to upload your link to the site to get entered in for some yummy candy! I hope you enjoy your Easter weekend, we are going to my in-laws for dinner and egg hunting, so it should be a fun weekend! God Bless and remember, it's not all about the chocolate bunnies!

A LITTLE FRIEND PAPER BAG BOOK

Hi all!!! WOW!! Yesterday was such a busy day - shopping all day and eating out at the Cheesecake Factory with my kids, it was soooo fun!! We really did have a great time, I have not laughed that much with them in a long time - made me feel really blessed to have such amazing kids!! They really are fun to be with, and they make me feel good because they seem to enjoy spending time with me...at least that's what they say, lol!! We came home after eight hours tired, but full and with lots of bags!! Heehee, they are set for the rest of the summer now!! Since I did not stamp at all yesterday (can you believe it??!!) I thought I would share my paper bag book that I taught in a class a couple of weeks ago. We had such a great time making it and they really loved the way it turned out! The theme was friendship since I figured it is always nice to document some of the fun times we share with our buddies!! I know I will be filling this with pics from Convention last year, lots of good times there! Anyway, bare with me as I walk you through this book of mine! The first pic is obviously the cover, and it starts the color theme that is found throughout the book. The book is made up of three lunch paper bags that you can find anywhere (although I prefer the ones at Target since they measure a true 6x6 and many others don't) that I punched holes through with my Crop-a-dile and bound together using lots of different ribbons. There are many ways to actually bind your book, but this is the way I did it this time. Notice I also added extra card stock to make the binding stronger. These subsequent pages have plenty of space for adding pictures, memorabilia, and even has pockets (from the bags) that can be used to store mementos or add some pull-out pages. Here they are in order:
If you notice, these pages all have some sort of pocket on them and I included several different tags that can be journaled on, decorated, or have a picture attached. I love to have options with my books, and this one gives you plenty! The paper is actually from the SU! Scrapbooking kit called Sweet Nothings and is positively yummy - I love everything in this kit!! Now, I did not use a lot of the stickers (not a big sticker person) BUT there are some fabulous choices in this kit! Instead, I used lots of different punches to add detail and interest to the pages! Since this is a class that I teach, I am not going to share all the details, but if you have a question or are interested in purchasing this as a kit, please email me and let me know! I really enjoyed putting this book together and will be teaching another book class later on this month with a summer fun theme!! Thanks for stopping by all, I love hearing from ya!! Today is a stamping day for me, I have a couple of classes to prep, and I have one of my downline coming over to stamp with me which will be very fun!! She is a real sweetie!! Enjoy your day - I will be back tomorrow with my sketch card for Tamara's challenge!!

HAPPY MONDAY!!

Hi all!!! Whoohoo!! Spring Break is here in the Hobson house which means no rushing around in the mornings! I love that - it means coffee and blogging in my jammies without leaving the house first, lol! We have lots of fun things planned this week and the kids are excited. Tony actually gets Friday off so we are going to Six Flags Marine World - I am looking forward to it because they have a huge wild animal park inside and all the new babies will be out...I love new babies of any kind, lol! Today we are kind of kicking back and I have my downline coming over later to stamp - that will be fun! So, today I thought I would share the last of my workshop cards. The first one is a hinge card which is fun and easy to make. I used my new Font of You set and I have to say, I really do love it! I also used my Baroque Motifs stampin' wheel across the top of the card where the hinge is. The umbrella was stamped twice and I cut out the top of it and popped it up on dimensionals to give the card some depth. I also added some versamark, clear embossing powder, and some heat to make it really pop. (I demo'd this, I had already cut them all out for them!) And, look at that yummy taffeta ribbon, I just love it!!! I did this one a little different by putting the sentiment on the inside of the card, but it worked for this one and they really liked it, which is what really matters! Here is a pic of the inside I left most of it blank so that they could fill in whatever they wanted since it WAS for them, lol! I have actually added some more baroque accents to mine, but since this card has already left the house and I forgot to take an updated picture, you will just have to imagine it *wink* This next card is a birthday card using my Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set - I just love the stamps in this set, they are perfect to use bling on which as you can tell, I did for this one! It is Iridescent Ice - I should own stock, I use it sooooo much, heehee! I thought this one turned out bright and fun and it is going in the mail today to one of our friends who has a birthday coming up. These were fun to make and the gals enjoyed making them as well! If you have any questions, drop me an email, I am always happy to answer them! Now, I am off to prepare for an afternoon of stamping fun, whooohoo!! Have a great Monday and thanks so much for stopping by!! Smooches!
