THIS WOULD BE THE REASON....

I have nothing creative to share!! Meet Bella, our rescue puppy. She is a mini daschund, which we have two of already, although she will be much smaller than them! She currently weighs a mean 1 1/2 pounds - LOL! The vet says she does not expect her to get any bigger than about 5-6 pounds so she will be tiny. She is a rescue dog....seems she has a fracture in her left jaw that is very painful and made it difficult for her to eat. I say made because since I took her to the vet, had her put under, and they readjusted her AND gave her pain meds, she is doing really really well! She is now eating some soft foods, and is just a gentle and loving little thing!!! I want to go and step on the head of the lady who did this to her, but Tony won't let me!!! She is only seven weeks old....and yes, I am very sleep deprived! I must be crazy getting another dog, but hey, at least now I know she has a good home and will be safe and happy!! And, I mean, look at that face, could you resist?! She was definitely not something I planned for, but here she is and she is now a member of our family. Although, introducing her to the other dogs is a very slow process under the vets directions. So far so good, although my male and female doxie still don't know what to make of her. Here is a pic of her and Clyde under my very close and watchful eye. He has been pretty good, but has bared his teeth at her a couple of times. Tony is totally in love with her! Me too, and the kiddos went to the vet with me where we sat for five house while they figured out what was wrong with her and how to fix her! So, it has been an emotional couple of days, but I think she will make it! Here is a pic of her when sleeping - this is her favorite place on me to curl up although usually she has her nose in my ear - LOL! She also loves to lay on my chest. I just love her! I will be back on Monday with something creative to share - I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!

FOR MY BOY

Happy Hump Day!!! I am sure those of you who had to go back to work this week are ready for Friday - hey, halfway there!! I feel like this week is flying by, but I have been very busy with "stuff" - you know, nothing important, but has to get done! However, I have had some time to stamp too so I cannot complain, lol!! Today I want to share a card I made using a sketch from a new site called Inspirational Card Sketches. The site is run by a wonderful blogger and my friend Dawn who is a very talented scrapbooker and cardmaker in her own right. Well, she has decided to start this site and I just had to jump right in since I love sketches!! And, she is hosting a DT call so if you are interested, hop on over there and check it out! This is the card I made using her sketch - it is hopefully a masculine card, or at least good for a teenage boy since this is for my son - LOL! No flowers, to ribbon (well, rope twine, but hey, it's rope, right!), no pretty bling! I do like how it turned out though. I made this for him because he is fourteen, feeling kind of overwhelmed with his first year of high school, and has been kind of slacking on the grades thing which, well, I don't tolerate very well and so I have been pretty hard on him lately. Well, I left him alone about it all through Christmas break, and then yesterday afternoon when I picked him up, he said to me out of the blue, "mom, I know I have been lazy and not trying very hard, but I am going to promise you right now that I am going to give it my all from here on out and that I have been thinking about what you said, and you were right" then kissed me on the cheek! Oh, how I love that boy!! Sometimes they surprise you, don't they?! Tyler is a wonderful kid, full of laughter and so much like his dad he just makes my heart ache sometimes. He really is turning into a wonderful young man *sniff*. So, I thought I would make this card for him, in which I wrote a little note from mom to son and stuck it in his book bag inside his phone (he won't miss it then, *wink*) and so he will find it sometime today. I hope he likes it!!! And, I hope you do too! I will leave you with the recipe - tomorrow I will be back with the first sketch from Tamara of 2009 and let me tell ya, it is FABULOUS!!! So, until then, have a wonderful day!

LOVE YOU MUCH

Hi all!!! It felt soooo good to spend some time in my stamp room - I just adore having no commitments other than hanging out in my jammies stamping my little heart out!! I worked on class projects yesterday and want to share a couple of the cards we are going to make in my upcoming card class. They use all new products available in the upcoming SU! catty coming out on January 19th - whoohooo!!! I am very excited about this catalog - SU! always has such FUN new products!!! And, what makes the products I used so cool is that the Love you Much Bundle that has the stamps, dsp, and the heart punch is available until the 31st of January at 20% off - whoohoo!!! Not only do you get a sneak peek, you can buy it before the catty comes out!! If you are interested in purchasing this bundle, contact me! So, the first card is pretty simple - I did use my Heart to Heart punch, I love it!! I also made a flower out of the other stamp by stamping it three times on three different color card stock, and punching each piece out - how cool is that, it fits the punches we already have! I also lifted the small pink heart in the center a bit for the pic so you can see that is also popped up - the dimension looks great IRL! I added some hardware to this card - I was feeling like it was missing something, I am not sure my mojo is at full strength....but this is what I came up with! This second card uses the same stamps and dsp but has a different layout altogether. For this one, I made a pocket on the front of the card, decorating the card stock with the hearts stamp. Then, I created a tag that can be removed and added to a gift if desired. I was pretty pleased with this one - I mean, hey, I got to use a jumbo eyelet and that always makes me happy, lol! Here is a pic of the card with the tag removed - I think it is a nice touch, especially if you are giving the card with something, you have a coordinating tag and the card still looks fine without it! Let me know what you think- this is also one of the cards I was thinking of doing in my upcoming class. So, here are my first two Valentines projects with several more in the works. I will share some more tomorrow but for now, I am going to leave you with the recipe and run to the grocery store and to Target. Then, back to stamping!! Have a fabulous day!

A THANK YOU CARD

Happy Monday all!!! Whew!! Life is getting back to normal in the Hobson household - my family all left for their respective homes yesterday and I spent the day cleaning, packing away the Christmas stuff and doing mounds of laundry! Not the best time in the world, BUT it is all done now and that makes me happy because today I am going to STAMP STAMP STAMP - lol!!! I am wishin' I could have gone to Leadership this year, but it is Florida this year, and with Tony gone during the week, it just was not possible!! But, I will be there in spirit with all my stampin' girlfriends!! I also want to take this time to thank EVERYONE who sent me a Christmas card - words cannot describe how touched I was at the amount of beautiful cards I received from Stampin' friends all over!!! I am making a collage from them, and will share it soon!!! So, this thank you card is for all of you - thanks very much for thinking of me! This is a square card that I rounded the corners on to make it softer. I dyed one of the flowers from my pretties kit with my reinkers and I love how it turned out! I made my own patterned paper by using my Kindness Jumbo stampin' wheel with Regal Rose ink and coloring in the flowers with my white gel pen. I just love my wheels and need to use them way more often than I do - they add soooo much!!! And, the stamp set is Flight of the Butterfly, one of my favorites in the catty - glad it is staying around for another round, just think it is soooo fun to play with!! So, now off to blurf some, I am waaaayyyy behind but plan on making the rounds today and then I am going to STAMP!!! So, I am leaving you with the recipe - take care and have a great start to the week!
