STAMP SOMETHING - SKETCH SOMETHING

Happy Friday all!! It is that time again, one of my fave events of the week - the Stamp Something challenge This week we are spotlighting our extremely talented DT member Emily who is fabulous at making sketches and creating beautiful cards!! So, this week we have a sketch done by her and the challenge is to use the sketch she created.. And, it is a WONDERFUL sketch!! Wanna see? Just head on over to the Stamp Something site and check it out as well as the work of the other DT gals who will blow you away with their talent!! I enjoyed doing this sketch and it will be a favorite of mine that I know I will pull out a lot more in the future. I will miss Emily but since we are blogging buddies, I know I will still get to chat and see her wonderful talent! So, deets of the card: I used some Basic Grey Gypsy paper which I just love because it has all my favorite colors in it, primarily the oranges, lol! The image is actually a digital image I received from the Scrapbook Site PaperPopsicles, and is the first time I have ever used one, but it sure won't be my last because it was cool to be able to size it the way I wanted and just print it out. The rest of my card is all SU! and the recipe can be found below!! And, since tonight is my anniversary, I will be going to make myself presentable and have a really nice dinner out with my man tonight! Enjoy your weekend, I will be back tomorrow with a fun scrapbook layout to share!

A GIFT BOX WITH CARDS

Hi all!! WOW - Thursday already, I can't believe it!! Almost time for the long weekend, WHOOHOO!! We have sooo much planned this weekend, I am not sure how we are going to fit it all in, but I know we are going to try, lol!! So, I am sure not a whole lot of creating will go on, but I am working ahead so I have things to share with you. Today I want to share a gift box with matching cards that I made using one of the Simply Scrappin' kits called Love Stories. I challenged myself to see how many projects I could actually get out of one of these without dipping into my other stash and this is the first one I completed. I also used some of the fabulous window sheets - love how they add to a project! For the box, I actually used my Big Shot Top Notes Die, cut the shape out of the card stock, then added a piece of window sheet to the back and used the negative image of the cut out to decorate the top of the box - pretty cool, huh?! Then, I added some flowers and ribbon just to pretty it up *wink* Inside the box are four cards(4.25x5.5) with matching envies - here is a pic of them all together. I love that this box allows for standard size cards to fit inside - I made four but I think you could easily fit six in this box with no problem. I think this set would make a great gift for any occasion, just change the colors and the theme and you are ready for just about any type of celebration! This particular set is romance - love, marriage, anniversary, you name it! This would be great for an engagement party, wedding shower, or anniversary because they can be used for any of these! With the decorated box and added ribbon, the presentation lends itself to making a fabulous keepsake for anyone you care to give it to! So, here are the closeups of the cards - I apologize if the pics are not the best, it was midnight when I took my photos so no natural sunlight at all!

So, there you have it - four cards that all fit nicely in one box - gotta love that!! No recipe with this one but if you have a question about anything, just drop me a line and I will be happy to answer it! I am off to do some laundry, grocery shop, and clean - doesn't that sound fun?! NOT!!! I would soooo rather be playing in my scrap room!!

TEAPOT TUESDAY - FOR THE BIRDS

Hi all!! I promised I would be back with something fun yesterday but I had another migraine and spent the day trying to get rid of it. So, today I will share my Teapot Tuesday challenge card! Cindy has given us a really fun teapot as inspiration this week!! You could do soo much with this!! I decided that is looked kind of woodsy and reminded me of birds so I went with the owl theme and pulled the colors from the teapot. Oh, I know the teapot says bakery and I am thinking of doing another one, but this is what came to me first so I went with it! I just love the little windows and the door - totally reminds me of the owl house in Winnie the Pooh, lol!! I hope you guys play along, it's really fun and I have gotten to meet some super nice peeps through this challenge!! Here are all the deets on Cindy's blog - check it out! I will be back tomorrow with some fun things to share, right now I am going to go and lie down again as I still have a lingering headache from my migraine last night - uggghhh!! I know it's the weather and instant heat, but sheesh, enough already!! Enjoy the rest of your day!

I had a migraine for a lot of the day, they are no fun and I have to sleep them off!
