SCRAPBOOK SATURDAY

Good morning all!! Sorry I am a little late posting today, I am really not feeling too well!! But, I wanted to share this page I did for my husband - he has been bugging me for a picture for his office so I decided to do a layout and frame it and give it to him! I had this photo taken on the cruise - I don't like having my picture taken at all, but I was happy with how this particular one turned out! I used my November kit from Coconut Scrapshop - let me tell you, there are some yummy papers and embellies in this one!!! I love it and I am having fun with it!! If you want one of your own, head on over, but hurry, there are very few left! The title letters are actually thickers that came in the kit, and I stamped on them! Here is a closeup of what they look like! I used the small flower stamp from the Baroque Motifs set, then added small pearls as the centers. On the photo itself, I used Stampin' Up! rubons, I just love the way I can put them on anything my little heart desires! They go on so well, and I have never had a problem of them peeling, like I have with other companies I have used. Here is a closeup of what they look like! Pretty, huh?! I hope he likes it, I think he will!!! So, I am off to lie down again, and hopefully feel better so that we can go to the bonfire tonight. I tell ya, I am heartily sick of this infection running rampant through my body - one day I feel pretty good, and the next day, not so much!! I am ready for it to go away!!! See ya tomorrow!

EXCITING NEWS FOR STAMPIN' FRIENDS AND SOME SAMPLE CARDS TO SHARE!

Hey all!!! Well, I am feeling somewhat better today although now I feel like I am getting a stomach virus - which my son stayed home with yesterday, uggghhhh!!!! I tell ya, if it's not one thing, it's another!!! But, lots to do, so I am pressing on!! First, I want to share some exciting news about one of my friends! Denise is a wonderfully talented stamper who has decided to start her own stamp company called Whimsy Stamps!! I am super excited for her, and just know she will do well - head on over to her blog, and check out her really cute sneak peeks of her upcoming releases, they are totally adorable! Well, it seems like a lot of my friends are jumping off and starting their own stamp companies - I did receive some emails asking me if I am starting MY own, and the answer is a resounding NO! I am not, I am sticking with Stampin' Up! However, these gals are my friends, and I wish them well in their new business endeavor. And, on that note, remember when I told you about Cambria's new stamp company called Our Craft Lounge? Well, I have some cards to share using her adorable new stamp sets! I was lucky enough to receive some of her stamps, and they are really cute!! Here is the first one using a set called Lil' Peanut -isn't that elephant cute?! I made this card for my little niece's birthday, she will love it! I used this week's SFYTT from Jen del Muro, which is fabulous! I haven't played with her sketches in awhile, so I was happy to find time this week! I paper pieced the balloons ad the little presents, then water colored Lil' Peanut with my blender pen and stamp pads. And, I could not resist adding a touch of glitter to her ears and her toenails? can you see it?! Everything except the image is SU! This next card is made with a set called Tree-Mendous Love and I adore this darling little giraffe that is part of this set! I made this card for my daughter who is away at Science Camp for the whole week (all the 6th graders go!) so she knows I missed here while she was gone - and I do, terribly! That row of hearts and hugs is one of the stamps, isn't it cute? And, the large heart is a stamp that I cut out and popped up over the tail, then added some glitter!! Kayla loves glitter!!! Everything but the stamps on this card is also Stampin' Up! Lastly, I have a really cute card to share that features Pat the Dog - this is my favorite, I just love this little dog! Look how adorable he is!!! I made this card for the love of my life - I am going to slip it into his truck and place it on his front seat in the morning so he gets it on his way to work! See the tag? It says "Ruff U" using a dog collar, how cute is that?! I had fun with this one, and kept the colors masculine because I knew it was going to my DH. I used some dog paper from Cloud 9 Design, but everything else is Stampin' Up (except for one brad!) I did fold down the corner of the dsp, added a photo corner, and then stamped and cut out two little bones as embellishments. And, of course the cute little paw print brad was perfect for this card! The other brads are Ruby Red brads and the ribbon is all Chocolate Chip. I even sewed on this one - it just looked like it would fit!! So, there you have it - three new sets from Our Craft Lounge....very cute, doncha think? Now, don't go thinking I am leaving my roots- I LOVE Stampin' Up! and am very loyal to them BUT I am also all for helping out friends, and these two very talented women are trying to make a go of it!! So, if I can help, why not? In the meanwhile, stay tuned for tomorrow when I will be back to my Stampin' Up! roots and Tamara's sketch challenge!! Till then, SMOOCHES!!!

OLD FASHIONED CHRISTMAS

That's what this stamp set Home For Christmas says to me - old fashioned Christmas!!! This is my favorite time of year, I absolutely love the excitement, the shopping, the baking, the eating, the seeing old friends and family, and yep, I even love the decorating and the wrapping!!! I am like a little kid at Christmas time, I can't help it! My husband does not understand it, but he indulges me, lol! So, I am in love with this stamp set, and can't believe I waited soooo long to get it! Isn't it fabulous??!! I love to watercolor it and I think this one may be one I do for my Christmas cards. I need to decide soon although I have enough individual ones to mail out now - heehee!!! But, nope, gotta have a family card, and although it may not be this exact one, it WILL be with this image! So, onto the card!! I water colored this using my aquapainter and then used iridescent ice for the snow on the ground, on the tree, and around the door - here is a closeup so you can see how pretty it sparkles! I also did a lot of stitching on this card, something I have not been doing a lot of lately, and I missed it! I just love it - makes it look like real snow! I had total fun making this card, and it WAS just for fun, no sketches, no challenges, no DT work, no craft fair stuff, just for F-U-N! I need to do more of that, I think - that is one of my goals anyway, lol!! It's all fun, just a different kind, right?!!! Anyway, I am off to lie back down, still not feeling all that well, but hoping tomorrow I will be back to my normal self, or at least close to it! So, I will leave you the recipe and wish you all a FABULOUS day!!!

DECORATIVE TILES

Good Monday morning all!!! Well, I have recovered from my Craft Fair but the doc has put me on antibiotics since I have strep throat (I was wondering why I felt sooooo bad) so I will be taking it easy for the next few days! This morning I wanted to share with you some of the decorative tiles I made for my craft fair. They went over very well, so I have none left! They make fabulous gifts! The first one I did is using one of my favorite sets Baroque Motifs - it is very Mediterranean to me, and since that is the theme throughout my house, I love using it! For tiles, you need to use Craft ink when you stamp, not your water-based inks that will dry too fast. Once I stamped my images, they were coated in Glossy Glaze Enamel, baked, and decorated! Easy Peasy!!

Here is another one I made with a Christmas theme using my favorite snowman from Jolliest Time of the Year. I think I would be very sad if this stamp set retires - I have worn it out, lol! I also added some of my favorite embellishments that I am sure you are all tired of, but I cannot seem to get enough of these felt flurries!! I just love them!! I made several different designs for these tiles, these are just two of them! I hope you like them - I am off to lie down, so I will leave you the recipe! Hope you all have a fabulous day!
Tile Recipe: (some items retired)
Paper - Bashful Blue, Naturals Ivory card stock
Inks - (all Craft) Not Quite Navy, Bravo Burgundy, Bashful Blue
Stamps - Baroque Motifs, Jolliest Time of the Year
Blue Bayou Ribbon, Soft Sky Ribbon, Crop-a-dile, Jumbo Eyelets, mini pearls (not SU!), Tiles from Home Depot

CUTE GIFT CARD HOLDERS

Hi All!!! I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!! I had my craft fair yesterday and it went VERY well, I am quite pleased!!! I am also glad it's over - LOL! Here is a project I made recently to hold gift cards, aren't they cute?! My kids are already asking if THEY get one of these little guys - they are such nosy little things, lol! I made these using my new stamp set called Holiday Lineup that I earned as a incentive gift from my upline Kimberly - she is a wonderful friend, and a fabulous upline (hello, can you say NUMBER SEVEN in the company??!!!!!) who always has something positive to share, I just love her! So, I was excited to get to use these totally cute stamps!!! Each holder has two pockets - one for a little 3x3 card and one for the actual gift card or money, whatever floats your boat!! Here is a picture of what the inside looks like:

See how the little cards just slided right in there? It takes a kind of impersonal gift and makes it more personal! Here is a pic of the holder with the matching card that is inside: I love the snowmen in the Holiday Lineup set and using Deer Friends with it just seemed like the perfect match!! Lastly, here is a picture of the actual Gift Card Holder up close and personal! I love the Baha Breeze colors for winter, they just seems to make me think of snow!! I hope you like this project, I will leave you the recipe below! I am off to lie down, seems I have caught a bug so today will be a rest day for me!! Hope you all get some time to stamp something fun today - see ya tomorrow!
