FIRST CHALLENGE FOR STAMP SOMETHING!!!

Happy Friday everyone! Today the first challenge will be posted on the new Stamp Something website of which I proud to say I am a design team member for! The first challenge has a very fitting theme - make something about "firsts". Make sure you get on over there and get all the details because you don't want to miss out on the challenge. To help you along, here is the page I did for the challenge: it is about my son's first friend - his Teddy Ruxpin! Zach loved that bear and took it everywhere he went including to bed! This is my favorite picture of my little guy and his friend and I thought this would be a great challenge to use to scrap him! Everything I used to make this page is Stampin' Up! I had such fun with this challenge and you will too! Here is the full recipe for my page:

Page Recipe:
Paper - Brilliant Blue card stock, So Saffron card stock, Ruby Red card stock, Cutie Pie Designer Series Paper, Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper
Stamp Sets - Best Friends Alphabet Upper, Sweet Celebrations
Inks - Brilliant Blue and Summer Sun Classic Stampin' Pads, Brilliant Blue and Ruby Red Stampin' Write markers, Black Stazon
Accessories - 1 1/8, 1 1/4, and 1 inch Circle Punches, Corner Rounder Punch, Coluzzle Circle Cutter, Build-a-brads, Jumbo Pewter Eyelet, So Saffron narrow grosgrain ribbon, stampin' up SAB rub-ons, Stampin' dimensionals

So, I am leaving this morning for my weekend crop and won't be back until Sunday! So, because I don't want you to miss me too bad (lol!) I am going to have a little blog candy for ya! All you have to do is leave me a comment here telling me you uploaded your take on the challenge to the Stamp Something blog and you will be entered! What are you going to receive??? Hey, have you ever been disappointed in my blog candy? You will have to wait and see - teehee!!! But I can promise you this - it will be yummy!!! So, what are you waiting for?? Get to workin' on that challenge, go upload it to the site, and leave a comment here letting me know you did! Don't have a blog? Well, send Erin or Denise a copy of your challenge entry and let me know you did! And remember, it does not have to be a scrapbook page, it does not have to be Stampin' Up!, it can be anything you want to stamp that represents a first to you!! Happy Stampin' and I will see you on Monday!!!!

A LITTLE LATE TODAY...

but this morning I had to spend trying frantically to book our hotel room for Convention. Seems SU! had a little snafu and so nothing went as planned BUT I finally got a room for me an my gals (sounds like a song, doesn't it??!) and we are within walking distance of the Convention center - whoohoo!!! So, now on to the card! I seem to be stuck on Tart and Tangy lately - I totally adore this set! The base on this one is Garden Green card stock, then layered with Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper. I double stitched around the outside of this and used my Ticket Corner Punch on the edges. Then, I used my Circle Scallop Punch with Garden Green card stock for the base of my images. I also added small holes all around the scallops with my paper piercer. The images themselves are stamped on Whisper White card stock. For the two green apples, I used my Green Galore and Garden Green Stampin' Write markers to color the stamp directly. The red apple is stamped twice, so I could make it dimensional. Love this! It is colored in Real Red and Garden Green Stampin' Write markers. The center strip is Garden Green card stock to which I added two Jumbo Pewter eyelets, then threaded these with Old Olive narrow grosgrain ribbon - yummy! The sentiment is stamped in Real Read Classic Ink on Whisper White card stock, then layered on Garden Green card stock. It is from the One Smart Cookie stamp set. Both pieces are punched using my Small and Large oval punches. I then added a piece of Real Red narrow grosgrain ribbon, popped it up on dimensionals, and was done! I hope you like it! Now, off to pick my kiddos - toodles!

Okay, so now on to the real reason you stopped by - LOL! These are ATCs I made for a recent swap I am in, and so I decided Tart and Tangy was the way to go! I just love this set! And, I used One Smart Cookie for the sentiment, these two sets were MEANT to be together! Didn't they come out cute?? Okay, I know I am not supposed to say that, but I really am pleased with how they turned out! And yes, I stitched every single one of them - lol! Here is the recipe!

TAMARA'S NSD SKETCH AND SOME EXCITING NEWS!

Happy Monday all! Sorry no post yesterday, but this weekend was jam packed busy! Saturday I had the yard sale (went very well, sold a lot, and had a BLAST!) and then yesterday was my niece's fifth birthday party at Roundtable Pizza. There were a lot of people there (all family) and it was loud and busy and fun! But, with all the activities, I didn't really get a lot of time in my stamp room. BUT, I do have a card to share with you today as well as some very exciting news!! But first, the card. This one I created using Tamara's sketch challenge for NSD. She is offering blog candy to anyone who uploads a sketch, but you need to get it done today as the drawing is tomorrow. I used the stamp Set Touch of Nature, I just love the detailed images of this set! Lots of stitching on this one, I guess I got a little carried away - LOL!. The bird is paper pieced as well. It is a pretty self-explanatory card so I will leave you with the full recipe and if you have any questions, just ask!
Card Recipe:
Paper - Kraft card stock, Pretty in Pink card stock, Blush Blossom card stock (for the bird), Naturals White card stock, Berry Bliss Designer Series Paper
Stamp Set - Touch of Nature
Inks - Close to Cocoa classic stampin' pad, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip Stampin' write markers
Accessories - Pretty in Pink Brads, Ticket Corner Punch, Sponge, Mat Stack and Paper Piercer, Pretty in Pink narrow grosgrain ribbon

So, are you ready for my exciting news???? Well, there is a brand spankin' new blog site dedicated to stamping and scrapbooking challenges with new ones to be posted every week! What is this site, you say? Well, it's called Stamp Something and it is on-line today with the first official challenge set for Friday! Denise and Erin have been working really hard all week to get the new site ready and online and I am happy to say, it is! And my news....I was asked and have accepted a position as one of their design team members - whoohoo!! I am very excited about this new site because it is something different - not sketches (which I love!) but different challenges for techniques, colors, pages, altered items, etc. every week. Think about how you can stretch your creativity getting out of your comfort zone! So, in honor of the kick-off, this week's challenge will have blog candy for all those who post a blinkie and link on their blog (come on, help me get the word out there!) and who enter their take on the challenge. To help ya get those creative juices flowing, the dt will post our projects on Friday morning. The theme is very fittingly based on FIRSTS since it is our first challenge. First baby, first car, first tooth, first love, well, you get the picture! So, come on over and let's play, it is going to be a BLAST!!!!!!
