SCRAPANDSTAMPSATURDAY - FIRST CHALLENGE!!!

Hi All!! WHOOOHOO!! It's here, the day we have been soooo excited about!!! Our very first SSS challenge!! Make sure you head on over to the site and check out all the fun details and of course the amazing layouts done by the fabulous design team gals - they knocked MY socks off, that's for sure!! For our very first challenge, we are doing a summer sketch challenge - using the sketch, create a layout with a summer theme! Fun, right?! Your layout just needs to include two stamped images, whatever you want! For my layout, I did a page based on my oldest son Zach- these pics were taken at Shark's Beach in Jacksonville, Florida. The beach there is really fun because the kids can look for Shark teeth, play in the tidepools, and of course, see all the fun crabs all over the place!! My son was having a great time lining them up, putting them on his shirt and watching them crawl, and chasing them down the beach - LOL! I just love these photos of him so it was a really fun page to create! And yes, I stamped - check out the letters in the title, and then along the bottom of the page there is a seagull and several beach posts. (Click on the image to make it bigger, you can see the title better) These stamps are part of Gina Ks set called Guiding Light. So, want to know who our sponsor is?? It is Limelight Papercrafts!!!! Mandy has been fabulous to work with, and she generously donated this wonderful prize package chock full of goodies! This is what is included:

A FUN RECIPE CHALLENGE!

Happy Thursday all!! I had a great afternoon yesterday stamping my little heart out!! Truth be told, I have been kind of stressed out about starting my new job, and all the changes that are sure to occur in our lives because of it! One of the things I have been worried about is losing my creative time - it really is a part of me, and I would hate to lose that!! So, my sweet sweet husband says, "honey, every night, you should take an hour or two and go into your stamp room, I know how important it is to you". Now, that is some guy, right?! I only hope it can happen!! BUT, for now, I have been stamping lots and have something fun to share with you today. Over at the Paperpopsicles site, there is a card challenge posted every week and they are super fun!! There are always prizes to win, and Amy does a fabulous job on giving us fun things for the challenge. Last week was a sketch, and this week was a really great recipe card, which I am going to share with you today! I decided I wanted to make a bright and cheery card for a friend who could use something bright and cheery in her life right now! I used patterned paper rom the Basic Gray Gypsy line (can you tell I LOVE BG??!) and paired it with the yummy Kiwi Kiss and Tangerine Tango - I am REALLY going to miss those colors when they retire *sniff* It was a fun card to make, I enjoyed the challenge! Check out the post over a PP so you can play along too, I would love to see what you all come up with! I will leave you with the recipe, I have to go to the University today, get fingerprinted, and turn in all my employment forms - it is starting to feel real to me now, lol!! I do hope to get some stamping in again this afternoon though!! And, don't forget, only ONE MORE DAY until the FIRST SCRAPANDSTAMPSATURDAY challenge - I am soooooo excited!! I really hope you all will play along - it would mean a lot to see some familiar peeps over there, and I can promise you the prize package is totally fabulous that our sponsor is providing!! Pop on over to the site and see all the spotlights we have on our Design Team members this week - they are wonderfully talented gals!!

TEAPOT TUESDAY MIXED WITH MOJO MONDAY...

and shown on Wednesday - LOL!! Hi all!! This card is actually for the Teapot Tuesday challenge Cindy posted yesterday on SCS, but I decided to combine it with the sketch Julee provided for this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge because I love it and really wanted to have time to play with it! This week's teapot was a little more difficult for me - lots of unique colors on this one! And, of course Cindy put the thought of belly dancers in my head so all I could think of was snake charmers, lol!! I decided to focus on the colors and combine those with my little snake stamp from the Zoofari set. I apologize for the quality of this pic, it was late last night when I took the photo and the lighting was just NOT cooperating!! The sentiment is actually one I made up myself and just typed it on the computer as I wanted it to be something I could use for an everyday card. Here is the teapot that Cindy provided for this weeks challenge! See what I mean? I thought about a zebra too, but then the handle kept making me think snake and I had visions of belly dancers in my head (thanks Cindy, lol!) so I went with that!! After everything is said and done, I am happy with my TT card, and I hope some of you will play along and upload your take so we can all take a look!! And, don't forget, we are only three days away from the VERY FIRST ScrapandStampSaturday challenge - WHOOHOOO!! This week we have been spotlighting our fabulous design team members so be sure to head on over to the site and leave them some love!! And, just wait until you see what goodies our sponsor is providing - absolute YUMMINESS, I tell ya!!! So, I will leave you with the recipe and I am off to the grocery store and hopefully to get some stamping time in this afternoon!! Take care all, have a fabulous hump day and thanks so much for stopping by, I just appreciate you all!!!

GREAT FRIEND WORKSHOP CARD

**PLEASE HEAD ON OVER TO THE SCRAPANDSTAMPSATURDAY SITE AND CHECK OUT THE SPOTLIGHT POSTS FOR THE DESIGN TEAM MEMBERS AND LEAVE THEM SOME LOVE - FIRST CHALLENGE WILL BE THIS SATURDAY, THE 6TH OF JUNE AND YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS IT!!!!*
Happy Monday all!!!! Sorry for ditching you all weekend, but Tony was home, and we were super busy with family commitments and then he took me out to dinner to celebrate my new job - YAY!!!! Yesterday I went shopping and ended up getting stuff for the kids and nothing for me, lol!! But, I had fun anyway :-) So, today I thought I would share one of the cards we did at my workshop last week, it is with one of my favorite stamp sets out of the mini catty, which by they way goes away at the end of the month!!! I used lots of Big Shot items on this card - the outside trim is actually the negative portion of the Top Notes Die, and I love the effect! And, the flowers are also one of my dies! I swear, I don't know how I ever lived without my Big Shot, lol!! This card was a HUGE hit at the workshop and they all wanted to see how the Big Shot worked (yep, I brought it, *wink*) so needless to say, many of them will have new dies to play with soon and I just know they will love them as much as I do! I will share some more of them tomorrow, but for now, I am going to leave you the recipe and then I am off to fill out all my new employee paperwork!! I want to say a HUGE THANKS to all of you who have been soooo sweet with your comments and your emails about my new job!! And, don't worry - stamping is so much a part of me that there is no way that I could give it up so I will be working on a new routine that will totally include some stamping time in my nightly routine *wink* Now, off to blurf and catch up with you all before I head out!!
