FLOWER FANCY.....AND SEE YA MONDAY!!!!

Good morning all!!!  Well, I am leaving for the weekend retreat this morning and I am sooooo excited!!! Everything (and I do mean EVERYTHING, lol!) is packed in the car all ready to go.  I brought so much stuff you would think I was leaving for month, LOL!!! I am sure I forgot something though as I always do *sigh*  but I am not going to worry about it, the goal here is to have FUN!!! We are doing a Shoebox swap tonight so I wanted to share my card that I made since the gals that I know that read my blog are already on their way and won't have time to peak and the others I don't know....yet :-)  I decided I wanted to use my Flower Fancy set...I am so glad it is on special this month (20% off, great deal!) since it made me pull it back out and use it - I totally love this stamp set!!!  So much fun to play with!  I decided on a Ruby Red card base....I have to be honest, I will really miss this color when it retires, I love it!!!  I stamped the small flower in the same color ink all over the front of the card.  My patterned paper panels are from the DSP set called Autumn Traditions which you might think is an odd choice but I really thought these colors look summery as well so I went with it!!  The ribbon is Old Olive and is super yummy! I stamped the main image and then stamped and cut out the flower which is popped up on dimensionals.  The sentiment is actually from a different stamp set called Great Friend, another fave of mine.  So, there you have it, my swap card!  I hope the gals like it - I wanted to make something easy to replicate but still be pretty and I think I succeeded....right??!! Come on, tell me I am right, LOL!!  Okay, so now I have to scoot - off to get gas, a coffee for the road, plug in my tunes, and away I go!! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend - I will post pics from the Retreat when I get back!!! Thanks so much for stopping by, I love that you do!

ANOTHER GIFT SET....WITH BIRDIES

Hi all!! I am still frantically getting ready to leave tomorrow for the Retreat and I have barely begun to pick out what I want to take, ack!!! I want to take it all, which is totally not practical, LOL!!! I have some projects in mind but want to ensure I have what I need to at least get those done.  I am actually going to work on some scrap pages from Kayla's birthday since I want to make a book just for her to have.  I am hoping to get it completely done (yeah, right!) but we shall see!! So, today I wanted to show another one of the spa gift sets I made - this tme with birds.  I know some of you have been asking for directions on how to make the holder, and you have my promise that when I get back, you will get to see my very first tutorial, heehee!! I am not prmising it will be great, but I will do one so that you can all see how they are made.  So, the base of this one is Gable Green which I love, such a pretty spring color!  I added some Tempting Turquoise and then some patterned paper from the DSP called Flock Together...perfect with the birds, right?  The bird is punched from my XL bird punch, which is only available until the end of the month since the Occasions Mini is going away.  And, I had to use my yummy Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon, it goes so well with, well, everything!
Once I had this set done, I decide to make some small gift cards to go with it and ended up with a whole set - here they are all together. I used the same papers, just changed out the pattern of the DSP.  Such a fun project, I am really enjoying putting these together, they make such wonderful gifts!  Okay, back to getting ready.....I swear, no matter how organized I THINK I am, I am still working until the last minute, LOL!  Thanks so much for stopping by, I appreciate all your sweet comments!  I will be back tomorrow to show you the swap card I made for the Retreat - until then!! Happy Stampin!

I AM BACK - WITH BUTTERFLIES

Hi All!! So sorry I took that break, I was fighting a horrible sinus infection, a sty in my right eye, and still had to get through three events - ugggghhhhh! Was not my favorite week, I will say that!!! My customers were so gracious and understanding that I was not at the top of my game - at least I had nothing catching, lol!! But, I am feeling a whole lot better now and thought I would share the card I made for the sketch challenge over at SC this week!! My fellow sketch team member Liz did the sketch this week and it is fabulous!!! I decided to do an emboss resist card since this is a technique I taught in my Club this past week.  I love how it looks and I have not done it in awhile.  I wanted to use butterflies on my card - I am really into them lately, so I chose my Dreams Du Jour stamp set as I love that butterfly and it was the perfect size!  I stamped them in Versamark, then added white embossing powder, some heat, and then sponged some soft pinks and greys over it and I am liking those colors together!!!  I also added some of my die cut butterflies - love that embosslit die and my large die for my BS - such pretty butterflies!!!  The patterned paper is from the Sweet Pea paper pack that is only available until the end of this month and then it's GONE!! Yep, the Occasions Mini is coming to an end, so if you have faves in there, you best stock up NOW!! You can order online with me here - just click and shop :-)  Today I have TONS of swaps to do so that I can have them done before I leave for my stamp retreat on Friday - whooohoo!!!  So, I will share a couple of them with you tomorrow - promise!!!  Thanks so much for stopping by, I love it when you do!!! Have a wonderful day and happy stampin'!!!!!!
