SCRAPBOOK SATURDAY - MADE WITH NEW PRODUCTS FROM BLACK MARKET SOCIETY!

Happy Saturday all!!! Here are two layouts that I made using the new line from Black Market Society called When the Weather is Fine! I love this paper, the pics just don't do it justice! These pages are proudly on display at CHA right now!! And, the new line will be available at Coconut Scrapshop so make sure you stop in and order yours! This first layout features two of their pattern paper in this line plus some of their cutouts that I used for tags all over the page!! I freehanded the curves to give the feeling of waves on the page, painted, glued, and glittered a little wooden doodle, and added two prima flowers with Stampin' Up! clear buttons in the center. If you look closely under the buttons, you will notice that there is another piece of dp plus a SU!rubon on top of the button! These pics are me and my sis at Big Bear Lake, isn't she beautiful! And yes, I am brave putting myself out there in a swimsuit but hey, it is what it is!!! This second layout I went a completely different way to show how versatile this line of paper is. This gorgeous girl is my oldest son's girlfriend of three years, Nikki - these are her senior pictures. I actually took her outfit shopping and took her to her senior photo shoot (Nikki does not have the best home life and has become like a daughter to me) so these pics are extra-special to me! For this layout, I used three different patterns of When the Weather is Fine line, using two of them and cutting them into even sized squares, then sewing them all together to create the centerpiece for the page. The letters in the title are cut out using the third pattern, pulling all the page elements together. I used my new stamp Stampin' Up! set Dreams Du Jour thinking it perfect for this theme! And, I added some rubons (well a lot of them really!) as well as some flowers with some flower brads in the center. There are little pearl accents all over the page, some buttons, and a chipboard bird that I painted and glittered, then mounted over a scalloped circle out of the dp. I am pleased with how both of these layouts came out and I am hoping that the Black Market Society folks like them too! Thanks for stopping by, it means more to me than you will ever know! Have a fabulous weekend - smooches!!!

STAMP SOMETHING CHALLENGE....AND SOME FABULOUS NEWS TO SHARE!

Happy, Happy Friday everyone!! I am 'feelin' grooooovy" - got that song stuck in your head now, lol?!!! So, today is another fabulous Stamp Something Challenge and we were lucky enough to have Lauren aka Groppi Girl host this week's challenge! If you have never seen Lauren's work, you are soooo missin' out so get over there and see what she has done (well, after you finish MY post, LOL!) So, Lauren wanted us to create something to do with candy and when I think of candy, I think of chocolate....anything chocolate! So, I decided to do a 6x6 recipe card featuring a Raspberry Chocolate Croissants - YUM!!! I used my new in-colors (Red Riding Hood, and Pink Pirouette), some Bravo Burgundy Ribbon, and of course my new scallop edge punch, love that thing! The stamp is from a REALLY REALLY old set called Recipe Fun that I bought on ebay before I was ever a demo - I mean, it is dated 1996! But, I will never part with it, it has great stamps that I still use a lot in my recipe books! But, I digress....the brads are pretty in pink and Rose Red. The circles are punched using my 1/2 inch Circle Punch. The squares are punched out using my small and large square punches. Pretty easy, but I love it and will be adding it to be recipe stash! Don't forget to head on over to the Stamp Something Challenge site to see what the other talented dt ladies did for this week - and make sure you upload your own project (please make it a current project, not something from your stash already made!) so we can see - there is a guest DT spot at stake here!
*****SO, ARE YOU READY FOR MY EXCITING NEWS?????!!!!!!*****
I was asked by Black Market Society (a new scrapbook paper manufacturer with fabulous product) to design projects using all five of their paper lines for CHA!!!! Whoohooo, ladies, let me tell you, this past week I have had my hair on fire pumping out 12 scrapbook layouts, an alerted frame, and altered mini book, and six cards - whew!! But, all my stuff is currently on display at CHA so if you are there and happen to be reading this, would you PLEASE PLEASE take pics for me of their booth??!! And, they have also asked me to design for their booth when they head to Anaheim, although many of the projects I already did will be fine there as well! So, what do you think, pretty fabulous, huh?!!!! I am pretty excited myself! And, it is all thanks to Jen over at Coconut Scrapshop for believing in her design team enough to make this happen - big smooches Jen!! Okay, so I am need of rest as I have been the mad scrapper for three days straight to ensure I got everything overnighted to Chicago! I am TIRED!! But, REALLY REALLY HAPPY!!!!! :-) So, I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!! Toodles!

ANOTHER SNEAKY PEEK!!!

Howdy all!! WOW! I am soooo lovin' my new rubbah - and the Dp is so yummy!!! So, I decided to share another card that I made with another new set called Deer Friends! It is totally cute, and I see lots of holiday projects with this set! I used Taylors' sketch for her Cupcake Challenge, although I don't think it counts because I did not use a cupcake....I don't have any (shocking, I know!) But, I loved the sketch and decided to play along anyway. I used the new Bella Rose Designer Series paper - isn't it yummy???!! And, instead of using ribbon, I made a scalloped hanger with the new scallop edge punch that I love and will be using A LOT!! AHHHHH......CAN YOU SMELL IT???!!!

That's the smell of sweet new rubbah, baby!!! WHOOOOHOOOO!!!! I FINALLY got my box yesterday after the resked of my delivery date....I thought I was going to cry!! I was on the front porch before Mr. Brown could get out of his truck - I don't know who he was more afraid of , me or the dogs, LOL! But, I immediately mounted all my new stamps and got to work! This card is made using Julee's Mojo Monday sketch, which I fell in love with, it is fabulous!!! Perfect for new stamps too! I ADORE this new stamp set - it is called Dreams du Jour and it is simply fabulous!! I was really somewhat sad when Touch of Nature retired, but now that I have this set with the butterfly, I feel much better - LOL!!! I used my new in-color card stock for the base, it is called Riding Hood Red, and oooh, it is YUMMY!!! I topped it with the new Bella Rose Designer Series paper, aaaahhh...I can tell this will be a favorite!! Then, I used the flip side of the same dp which is the brown with polka dots - isn't it fabulous! All the images are stamped in Chocolate Chip ink; I water colored my sentiment image with both Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss classic inks, another one of the in-colors, then double stamped the butterfly, once on the Whisper White card stock and then once on the Bella Rose dp, cut it out, and made it 3d...pretty, huh? Can't go wrong when the paper is this beautiful! I also used some of the new buttons from the button bouquet, love them!!! I rounded the corners of all my paper to give my card a softer look and voila, done!!! I am sooooo excited about getting to play with new products because I ADORE Stampin' Up! and really cannot imagine not being a part of this wonderful company! So, enough blathering, gotta get back to that rubbah - toodles!

THINKING ABOUT MY BOY

Hi all! Well, after 10 days of vacation, I neither gained nor lost, so I consider that a victory - LOL! Back on track though and hope to see those numbers keep going down! So, I have had my oldest on my mind, especially now that he is gone again until Christmas so I decided that since I just received his formal military photos from the Academy in the mail, I would scrap one in the hopes it would be a therapy of sorts....and it totally was! Look at this handsome guy???!!! I mean, isn't he amazing!!! Of course, I am biased, LOL! I am really happy with how this page turned out! The supplies are from the Coconut Kit I designed this month, and I love playing with it! I painted my chipboard stars, added flock and glitter, then stamped on the big cutout star that I made with some of the dp. I stripped my journaling to keep the lines of the page crisp and sharp because well, it IS a military page!! Yep, I used some ribbon, but rick rack is okay for a male page - at least that is what I have decided, *teehee*! No recipe, but if you are interested in the supplies used for this project, check out my kit now available at the Coconut Scrapshop! Until tomorrow!! Smooches!

MY SBS SISTER'S SKETCH CHALLENGE

Happy Monday - well, at least I hope it will be since I have weigh-in this morning, LOL! I tried to be good on vacation, but well, you know how that goes! So, today I am going to share a card I made for my SBS9 sister Kim-Marie's sketch challenge. Go and check out her blog Frog of Faith, the girl has great talent! Now, you will notice that I did indeed use contraband - I used another one of Melanie's adorable stamps, aren't these flamingos just the cutest??!! I can't decide whether I like the flamingos or the koalas better....or maybe the snakes, *teehee*. BUT, everything else on the card is Stampin' Up! I was going for a summery look for this card, and I think I achieved that! I added some bling to the wings and beak of my little birds for some added pop! And, of course I had to use my beloved jumbo eyelets, I just love those things!!! I will go into a deep, dark depression if they are on the retirement list!!! So, I will leave you with the recipe as I must get myself to WW for the weekly torture, I mean weigh-in! Wish me luck!!
