SCRAPBOOK SATURDAY

Hi all!! Got back in late last night and will share stuff from my cruise tomorrow but today I am sharing another page I made using the Coconut Scrapshop October kit!! Isn't this paper yummy? I am loving it!! This is a layout again based on Thanksgiving 2006 - whoohoo, almost finished with that holiday, teehee!! My husband fries our turkey every year. At first, I was like, ewwww....how unhealthy, but in actuality it is fried in peanut oil, and does not absorb hardly any of the oil, but is full of flavor and is the best turkey I have ever tasted! I won't eat turkey any other way but this now - lol! So, these pics show the steps to getting that turkey on the table. And, I used my leaves Big Shot Die, stamped the leaves with my Sanded background stamp, and added those up top to give the feel of fall! Lots of buttons on this one too, Jen gave us lots to play with and since I love buttons, I was thrilled!! If you want your own kit, get on over to the Coconut Scrapshop and see if she still has some, she might have one or two *wink* Have a fabulous weekend!

TAMARA'S SKETCH CHALLENGE 67

Happy Thursday all!! I have another fabulous sketch challenge card to show you (well, the sketch is fabulous at least, lol!) Tamara comes up with wonderful sketches and this one is no exception! I decided on a holiday card because I am working towards getting all mine done so that I can mail them out in a timely manner this year (read, NOT wait until the week of Christmas, heehee!) So, I inked up that adorable little Santa from the Jolliest Time of the Year stamp set and decided to watercolor him, then add some iridescent ice to his beard and his suit trim to give him some pizazz!!! So, make sure you get over to Tamara's site and check out the rest of the DT projects - they will amaze you! And, if you want to try the sketch yourself, please upload your link to the site so we can all come and check it out!!! I will leave you with the recipe and will be back tomorrow with the Stamp Something challenge! DVD TIN DESKTOP NOTEBOOK

Hello all!! Today I am sharing an altered DVD tin that I made for a craft fair awhile back! I did use retired DSP since it is perfect for craft fair projects, but it would be easy peasy to make this in a class using current paper if you so desired. I measured the outside of my tin (7x5 approx), cut my dsp to fit, rounded the corners, and adhered it using sticky tape. Then, I just decorated the front of the tin to make it pretty! Here is a pic of the inside of the tin! On the left side are two pockets I created using DSP and my tab punch - this could be used for storing receipts, grocery lists, etc. The right side has a pad of paper with a pen that matches the DSP and is held in there with some ribbon I attached underneath the piece of card stock. The pad is held in the tin with sticky tape. This is a fun and relatively easy project to do and is a huge hit as a class! I will leave you the recipe - have a great day
DVD tin recipe:
Paper - Cameo Coral, Naturals Ivory car stock, DSP is retired
Inks - Cameo Coral, Rose Red classic Inks
Stamps -Stitched Exotics (sentiment from retired set)
Accessories - 5 Petal Punch, Jumbo Eyelet, Crop-a-dile, Tab Punch

I have never done an SCS swap before, this was the first, and I am not sure if I will do it again. But, I thought I would try it and see! I used my Top Note Bigz Die to actually print the recipes out on and I love it - what an awesome way to print your recipe!! I actually printed them out two to a sheet of Naturals Ivory card stock, then ran it through my Big Shot! Fabulous die, fabulous machine!!! So, I will leave you with the recipe for my recipe - toodles!

DINNER ANYONE??

Hi all! I hope you are enjoying your weekend!! Today I am sharing with you the recipe tin and matching inserts that we made in a recent class I taught! We had a great time and everyone loved their new recipe holder. I did realize that after I took the picture, that I had not added all the ribbon to the handle yet, but rest assured the handle cannot be seen for all the ribbon - lol!! I was just too crunched for time to retake the photo! So, I used my favorite fat chef from the Voila stamp set whom I could not resist paper piecing and some of our yummy chipboard as well! It was really fun to make, I am lovin' the papers and the ribbons! Here is a picture of what the card inserts look like. We used the Voila accessories set to do a lot of these as well as the From the Kitchen set for the actual words. I am happy with this class project and think I will teach this one again!! It's fun and makes a fabulous gift (or you can keep it for yourself, heehee!) Here is the recipe! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
