STAMP SOMETHING - TRIBUTE TO MELISSA

Happy happy Friday!! I just love Fridays, no rushing around tomorrow morning, Tony comes home tonight, just a great day of the week!! And, it means another Stamp Something Challenge, whoohoo!!!! As I told you last week, the month of May we are paying tribute to all of the DT members who are leaving us at the end of the month! So, it's kind of a bittersweet thing because we get like family and I hate to see anyone go!! This week it's Melissa that we are showcasing!! She is an absolutely amazing talent in both stamping and scrapbooking, I always love checking out her new creations!! Now, M is my new partner in crime for the new challenge site we created so I am not really saying goodbye to her, lol!! However, I will miss her for SS on Fridays!! M loves pink - hence the name of her blog, Simply Pink. So, this week, in honor of Melissa, the challenge is to stamp something pink. Now comes the part I did not pay attention too (oops!) It is supposed to be Pink Birthday somethings - but I forgot the birthday part (doh!!!) So, forgive me M for being a bonehead!!! It IS pink though - LOL! Although I guess it COULD be a birthday card.......right??!! Heehee, you know I love ya girlie!! So, make sure you all go over and check out the eye candy from the rest of the DT gals, they did a FABULOUS job (and followed directions). And, give this one a try yourself - just upload your link to the Stamp Something Site so we can all see it!! Now, I am off to work on cleaning the house, getting dinner prepped, and organizing for an afternoon of stamping with my downline - too fun, right?! What a great day!! I hope you all have a FABULOUS one too!! Thanks for stopping by, your comments always make my day!!

A CARD FOR A FRIEND

Hi all!!! Well, it's official - I am fighting a horrible sinus infection and I am back on antibiotics AGAIN, uggghhhh!!!! Ya know, I have to say, I really regret going through the very painful sinus surgery I had two years ago because it did not help AT ALL!! Not one thing has changed - if anything, they have gotten worse! Sheesh....I wish they could just remove them altogether, lol!! Sorry for the vent, just needed to get it out there!! On to the card: I made this for a friend who is having some serious medical issues and is feeling down right now because these are long-term issues she has lived with for awhile. So, I using yesterday's sketch challenge on Splitcoast (great sketch!) I made this one for her!! I know how difficult it is to be laid up for a long while - I went stir crazy after one month on the couch!! I just want her to know I am thinking about her!! Even though I complain about my migraines and my sinuses, I do feel pretty lucky because my overall health is very good and I should feel lucky that it is! I am going to send her some images to color and play with - she is a stamper but has been too ill to even do that!! So, I hope I can at least bring a smile to her face!! Today is a day filled with errands and finishing up the laundry. I have lots of stamping to do as well so I am looking forward to an afternoon in my studio if I can keep my head from exploding - LOL! So, I will leave you with the recipe - I am off to blog hop and check out what fabulous things you all have been up to!! Have a great day, thanks for stopping by, and if you have not entered my blog candy, make sure you get in on that!! And, for those of you who are working on DT entries, let me just say that I am excited to be able to see them - I just know they will all be BEAUTIFUL!!!

MOJO MONDAY - EVER AFTER

WOW!! Can you believe it's Wednesday already? I swear, time is flying by!! The kiddos will be out of school in four more weeks and then my oldest son will be home from college - WHOOHOO!! I am sooo looking forward to that!! So, since time is getting by me, you are getting to see my Mojo Monday card on Wednesday, LOL! I have to say, this week's sketch was really difficult for me - I scrapped this card three times before I decided this one would have to do!! I don't know exactly why, but this was one of those times when I was relieved I was done....it was like a test I was doing poorly on - LOL! But, I decided I needed to share it so here it is!! I used the Ever After stamp set - I love this set and don't pull it out nearly enough! The images are sooo pretty! I decided to make this a notecard and went with a sentiment from the Sweet Sentiments set. All in all, I guess it isn't horrible.....and I really do like the image. I guess that's why they call them challenges, right? So, do any of you ever struggle with a challenge....come on, help a gal out and let me know I am not the only one, heehee!! It's a great way for me to let myself down gently! So, I am off to stamp some projects for some deadlines I have coming up and I am also going to do some blurfing! I just love not having a real schedule to keep to today! And, don't forget: if you have not registered for my blog candy (see post above) in celebration of our new challenge site scrapandstampsaturday, please do!! And, take a gander over at the new site, and join us there - Melissa and I are soooo excited!! And, Melissa has blog candy too so get on over to her blog too! I can't wait to start seeing the gorgeous submissions I just know are coming our way!! Gotta run now so here is the recipe!

JEN'S SFYTT AND THE ANSWERS TO A FEW QUESTIONS

Hi all!!! WOW!! Did not mean to take such a long break, but I was gone all weekend to my crop (it was FABULOUS!!!) and then yesterday I was out of commission with a horrible sinus headache!! I feel better today although the headache seems to be lingering....I am sure it's the storm front that has moved in....hopefully all better by tomorrow!! Anyhoo, today I wanted to share the card I did for Jen's SFYTT - I love this sketch, and will definitely use it again!! I wanted to make a card for my man so I got out my stamp set Totally Tool which I have had for awhile but has never seen ink. Shame on me, I know!!! I like it, it will be perfect for Father's Day cards! This one though is going in my husband's bag when he leaves to go back up to Susanville :-( I miss him so much during the week and since I was gone most of the weekend, it was a very quick visit this time! But, he will be back on Friday....so, come on Friday, lol!!! Here is the recipe for the card!
Card Recipe: (all products SU!)
Paper - Chocolate Chip, Close To Cocoa, Baha Breeze, Whisper White card stock, Parisian Breeze Designer Series Paper
Inks - Brown Stazon, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, and More Mustard stampin' write markers
Stamps - Totally Tool
Accessories - Paper Piercer and Mat Stack, Jumbo Eyelets, Rope(retired), Chocolate Chip narrow grosgrain ribbon, neutrals buttons

I want to thank all of you for your sweet comments and wonderful enthusiasm over mine and Melissa's new venture!! I have had quite a few questions, so I thought I would address them here since some of them were asked multiple times!
(1) Should they be new projects that are submitted? Yes, they should be unpublished projects. If you have some done that have not been published, those are fine, we just don't want something already having been posted on a blog since we will be posting them ourselves.
(2) Where do we send questions and submissions? Please send them to the email in the post which is scrapandstampsaturday@gmail.com. We check this email everyday and so you will receive an answer quickly from one of us.
(3) Are DT submitters eligible for the blog candy? Yes, everyone who leaves a comment AND goes over and registers as a follower on the StampandScrapSaturday site will be entered in for both drawings. There will be TWO winners, one for Melissa's candy, one for mine so make sure you go over and leave a comment on her blog as well which is Simply Pink.
(4) How long is the commitment? The DT is for six months so it will run from June - December. GDTs will be chosen for each month starting in July.
(5) Do they all have to be 12x12 layouts? No, we actually encourage you to do differing sizes!! Everyone scrapbooks differently, so show us what you have got!
(6) Do they have to be Stampin' Up! stamps? Nope - Yes, we are both demos but we don't care what stamps you use as long as you use them!! We realize that not everyone is exclusive to one company and the variety will be nice to share!
Okay, I think I have covered them all - LOL!! Can't wait to see what everyone submits!!! Thanks for stopping by today - off to blog hop and catch up with YOUR fabulous creations!!
