WORLD CARD MAKING DAY IS TODAY!!!

And what better way to celebrate than to make a card using Beate's sketch for this week!! I LOVE her sketches and have been so busy that I have not had time to do them (although they are in my folder for a later date) but there was no way I was letting this week go by without getting it done. This is a FABULOUS sketch - and if you have never been to her blog (like, you are from another planet or something) get over there and check her out - she is the most fantabulous, creative and amazing stamper - and she is a sweetie to boot! So, on to the card! This is a square card because I love them and have not made on in quite some time and I like the bigger stamping area to work with. This card I made for pure fun - not for a class, a workshop, or an event - just for me!!! And, well, whoever I send it to, lol!!! I really wanted to do some stitching on this one since I have not gotten to play with my mat stack in awhile (shocking, I know!) so my idea grew from there.....stitching, oh, stitched exotics, oh, and I should incorporate the stitched background....you know how it goes!! So, there is lots of stitching and I even did stamp the card stock with the Stitched background stamp (click on image to see) so lots of little details here! I also double stamped my flower image, added a Jumbo Eyelet, and popped one up on dimensionals to give the card some depth. And, I added a scalloped edge to my yummy dp called Urban Garden, isn't it purdy??!! I am quite happy with this - mainly because I had so much fun doing it! Sometimes it is just F-U-N to stamp for no other reason than to stamp and I loved it!!! Not that I don't like to get classes and workshops together, I LOVE them, but with this, I could do whatever I wanted because I did not have to think about how to demonstrate anything! So, have you stamped anything today - it IS WCMD ya know!!! I was supposed to have a big fundraising stamp event today to raise money for the Ronald McDonald house here, but the Veteran's Society asked me if I would wait and do it on Veteran's weekend so that the cards could be made for the troops and any monies collected would go to the RMH - how could I resist that??? So, me and sixty strangers (well, they won't be for long, *wink*) will be stamping our little hearts out on Veteran's Day! My downline will be helping out though - I am good but sixty is a lot to handle by oneself, ya know! So anyway, enough of my rambling, gotta go get ready for Kayla's soccer game (it's pouring, but they play anyway, uggghhhhh.....) so I hope you all enjoy your weekend and I will be back with a scrappy project tomorrow since I skipped it today in honor of WCMD - I mean, I HAD to post a card, right???? See ya!
