PAPERCRAFT PLANET SKETCH CHALLENGE

Hi All!!! Sorry for the lack of posts, but this has been one BUSY weekend so far - LOL! On Friday night, we went to the Travis Tritt concert, and it was a blast!!!! Really really enjoyed having an adult night out with some friends listening to some good music! Then, last night we hosted a bonfire at our house so I cooked all day and the last folks left around midnight so I was too pooped to stamp (imagine, that!!) So, I got up this morning and decided today would be a stampin day - LOL!! This card is based on the sketch challenge posted at Papercraft Planet this week. It's a great sketch, so if you get a chance, play along!! I used my Snow Swirled set again, I just love it! The sentiment is from the hostess set Best Yet, which is probably the best hostess set SU! has had IMHO! Now, off to do some blurfing and some more stamping - enjoy the rest of your weekend!

STAMP SOMETHING CHALLENGE

Happy Friday all!!! Today's Stamp Something Challenge is to stamp simply - no multiple layers, just one! So, I kept my card really simple using white card stock (hence the green background) and embossing my Christmas tree image and sentiment. I actually like doing these kinds of cards, I think they turn out very elegant most of the time! It also is pretty easy to put together!! Please make sure to stop by the Stamp Something site: it is our sixth anniversary and to celebrate, we are giving away some very awesome blog candy!! TAMARA'S SKETCH CHALLENGE

Oooh, Thursday already - you know what that means, right?! Time for another sketch challenge!! Please make sure you head on over to the site and check out what the rest of the DT gals did - lots of eye candy to see there, I am tellin' ya!!! I decided to use my Big On Christmas stamp set again so that I could add another card to the set. I am lovin' the sketch, and I am quite happy with how this card turned out!! Yep, I made my snowman glitter again - LOL! And, I even added some extra bling to the centers of all my snowflakes - the snowflake is actually from the Season of Friendship set, and is the perfect size for making backgrounds. If you click on the pic, you can actually see that I paper pieced the letters with the Dp and looks fabulous IRL! So, want to play along this week? SANTA GARLAND

Happy Hump Day All!!! Well, I don't know about you all, but yesterday was a very exciting day!! I watched election coverage all afternoon and night and gone next to nothing done - LOL! What a historic day for all of us!!!! I hope you all got a chance to vote - I know I did! Okay, so now onto why you are really here.....today I am sharing a Santa Garland that I made for my upcoming Craft Fair. I have been making these in some shape or fashion for years as gifts so I thought I would try my hand and selling a few! They are hard to photograph though, so I apologize in advance if any of it is hard to see! This first picture is of the whole garland which consists of five panels, one each spelling out the word "Santa". Each panel is the size of a standard card and is made from both card stock and patterned paper. There is a score line between each panel to make it so that is folds flat for easy storage. I am also working on designing a cute box for this to be stored in, or maybe adding a ribbon to it that will tie together so stay tuned on that one. To make it better for you to see the deets, I did take some separate pics of the panels - here is the first one which consists of the first two letters. I used several different holiday stamp sets to put this project together, but it would be easy enough to just use one if you wanted to make this a class. However, I am teaching this as a class using all of them - heehee, my gals love it when we use more than one set! The letters are chipboard that I sponged with Garden Green and then stamped snowflakes on in versamark. I added some Iridescent Ice, heated it up with my heat gun, and they turned out really nice! The two scalloped green pieces are actually one of the scallop square punches cut in half - I like this effect!! Here are the second two panels following the same color scheme and using some more of the stamps. I stamped everything in Black Stazon and water colored all of the images, which I thought provided a more whimsical look - at least I hope it did, since that was my goal!! And, of course, I had to use some more of those wonderful felt flurries - ack, gotta order more, my stash is getting low, LOL! And, the final panel, which is quite simple yet stands out because of those gorgeous snowflakes with the added bling rhinestone in the center!! I am quite pleased with how this project turned out and I am working on a couple more variations so you will get to see those over the next week or so......I hope you don't get tired of them, heehee!!! FEELS LIKE WINTER....

It has been really cold here the last three or four days and we actually had our first fire of the season over the weekend, which totally put me in the mood to make Christmas cards. I have a craft fair coming up so I thought it might be good to make a few. I used my favorite set from the Holiday mini called Winter Post- it just really reminds me of the holiday season and family. So, I made a couple variations of this same card and thought I might make a set of six of these, two of each design - and this is the first two!! I am loving the Ski Slope DSP as well - it reminds me of snow! So, I decided that using my Felt Flurries again would be perfectly okay *wink* Here is the second variation of this card - I just flipped it vertical and added some different stitching, but is is basically the same card. I hope you like these because I have a feeling you will be seeing more of the same in the next few days since I am hooked on this stamp set - LOL! I will leave you with the recipe for both below! Happy Monday all!! Guess what??!!! I actually sat down and stamped in my studio yesterday - I mean, I thought my mojo was gone forever!!! I have had a really hard time getting back into the swing of things since come back from vacation, so forgive me if this is not my best work - it WAS work, nothing seemed to come easy!! But, I have gotten over the hump now, so I think I will be okay - LOL! This card was made using one of my all-time fave Christmas sets Big On Christmas, I just love it!! I used some dazzling diamonds on my snowman face to add a little something as well as some of my favorite embellies from the mini -felt flurries!! I will leave you with a recipe for this one below.

Happy Friday all!!! Today I get to share with you my Stamp Something project of the week - this week's theme is fittingly Halloween somethings, yep do anything with a Halloween theme. So, my daughter wanted a wall hanging in her room of her being Tinkerbell so I decided that would be perfect for today's challenge. Isn't she cute?? Of course, I AM biased, but I think she is an adorable Tink! Not too much stamping, but lots of details - I did stamp versamark flowers on the background (from a tinkerbell stamp set of my daughters!) and added some bling, then covered it all in vellum. She loves it and is anxious for me to get it framed so that is on my list of things to do this weekend (does your list of things to do every grow smaller because mine DOES NOT, LOL!) I am not going to leave you a recipe for this one as it is pretty simple, but if you have any questions, just holler!!
